Sky Sports website has a quote from his agent which sounds promising :1980_boogie_down:

"Nothing has changed at all. He is coming to Tottenham for the club and not for the manager," Nakhli said.

"Managers come and go. Of course Jan is sorry that Harry Redknapp is no longer there but he is going for the club.

"We have a good relationship with Daniel Levy. He wants the deal to happen and there is a good atmosphere (between us).

"I don't know when it will happen but the deal is close, very close."

This is as it should be.
Who the manager is is a side issue.
That is not to say a manager doesn't have influence over transfers.

If we are getting AVB, he and Kaboul will work well in his set up.

Been saying this for a while. Couldn't think of a CB pairing in the PL who would suit it better.

Caulker should also suit it, but would Dawson?

I dont think so. From what i have read it is more about the reading of the game, and I don't think this is his strong suit... though he is not the strongest or quickest either, so he must have something going for him that i cannot fathom. But i see him as a Terry jnr, and if Terry didn't work, i dont see Daws either.

Still Vert, Gallas, Kaboom, King and coulker should suffice.

Though I will ad, whilst I don't think Daws is the player to take us forward, I do feel an affinity towards him, and think he is a good squad player. There is no loyalty in football anymore, but i think he is worth keeping.

Terry is ageing. Could we rip Chelsea off for a replacement?

(i don't actually want rid, but if they offered us LOTS then i might be persuaded)

If we play three at the back, it could be...

    Corluka - Kaboul - Vertonghen

...which is potentially worrying, given Charlie's lack of pace.

Caulker - Kaboul - Vertonghen looks so tasty though! All pacey, all good on the ball (Kaboul least so), all have played full back at some point in their careers.

Corluka has been talking as if he's already left for quite a while.
For this back 3, are you dropping Walker!

Walker wouldn't work in a back three.

Another issue with playing a back three is who plays on the right. Kaboul and Dawson will be in the middle, Vertonghen on the left (and Gallas can play there), but on the right we can play Caulker...but after that, Corluka is slow and King risks being exposed - and that's if either of them are at the club next season. Livermore dropping back?
