When are we all meant to start agreeing with the Liverpool fans that he is a terrible Manager again?

England have already performed better than they did in the last international tournament despite having a weaker side.

He realised his tactics weren't working. Made a substitution which changed the game.

Hard to do much more from that situation, isn't it?

He's a class act. Even if we get stuffed by Ukraine I really hope he's not hounded out.

If I recall correctly, plenty on here were writing him off as clueless for not picking the footballing god that is Michael 'retired' Carrick.

Whilst this is undoubtedly true, it didn't seem to matter when the media & Liverpool fans were calling for Harry "no international management experience" Redknapp over Roy "took Switzerland to number 3 in the world" Hodgson.

Where's the link to your point showing Liverpool fans were calling for Harry mate?,it might have escaped your attention but not every Liverpool fan supports England.

Plus i dont rate Redknapp,1 trophy win in 30yrs of management.<laugh>

And yet many Liverpool fans claimed Hodgson failing as England Manager (which they seemed to think was inevitable) would prove he is an awful Manager and that it was down to him and not your awful players when he was in charge of your club.

There are plenty of posts on the Liverpool forum, although I accept most were anti Roy rather than pro Harry.

Fair play to you though, you were reasonable and logical about the Roy appointment. I'm guilty of tarring all Liverpool fans with the same brush, I accept. Let's just say media then, since that still backs up my point!

In his first interview after taking over as our manager was to apologise to Fergie for taking the Liverpool job, when Everton beat us in the local derby he said we should be proud and take plusses from the defeat etc etc.

Yeah,he really endeared himself to us berbs,

I totally agree with you that the media went for Harry bigtime, and no doubt some Liverpool/England supporters were against Roy getting the national job based on his time at Anfield.

It'll be Rodgers they're next calling for to be sacked.

FSG is the best thing to have happened to them. In FSG We Trust.

I am not a great fan of Hodgson but I must say he has done well in the euros. With all the injuries and suspensions he has exceeded expectations. To think that the scousers sacked him after just a few months (to let in a Grotesque buffoon who was even worse than he was). You'll never walk alone? My ar*e <ok>!

He has done a good job so far at the tournament but still not happy with some of the players he chose whilst leaving better players at home.

Surely picking the best squad as a unit is more important than picking the best players on paper?

I'll ignore all the anti-Liverpool rants. I don't have a problem with Roy it just wasn't going to work.

As far as England goes I'm neutral here and feel that he will not have the balls to drop the more experienced players that are not performing. Milner, Rooney and Young should be dropped and Ox Chamberlain, Walcott and Carroll should start in order for England to go and attack Italy.

Milner should definitely be dropped as he is there to allegedly protect the inept full back behind him who can attack. A better idea is to play a full back who can defend and a winger who can attack, therefore Jones at right back and Ox/Walcott at right wing with Milner and Johnson out for being ****.

The rest stays the same. Should we really drop the player who scored last night's winning goal? not at all.
Should we drop the left winger who's goals and contribution got us there in the first place? not at all.

    ^^^^

I was (and still am) unhappy that he left Ferdinand behind in favour of that scumbag. Having said that he managed to get 7 points out of 9. Was it luck or design? Alan Green on the radio yesterday argued that England was dominated in all 3 matches so far and did not deserve to go through. Who said " I do not want a good general. I want a lucky one"?

The way it is going I can see only one team that we need to fear.
