If we're going with 22k (I heard it was similar/a bit below other player's wages, think Lambert and Lallana are 25k so would make sense) then that's £1,147,142 a year (we'll say 1.1m) which makes 4.4m over 4 years, add that to 6.5m transfer fee and you get £10.9m, so we're paying £2.1m less for Rodriguez (22 y/o) than they are for Pogrebnyak (28 y/o).

Yeah but i'd rather pay a fee and a much smaller wage. Then have a big wage hanging around if something goes wrong.

They probably wouldn't have too much trouble selling him if they needed to. Plenty of Russian and Turkish teams out there with more money than sense.

I thought the new contracts dished out last season had decent promotion bonuses in them. If we're still paying the players what we were last season,, it's very good business.

Yes, I'd be surprised if the players are still on what they were. We know that Tadanari Lee had a generous promotion clause in his contract — I believe enough to make him our highest earner if the others haven't been increased also, which is pretty hard to believe.

have any russian or ex eastern block actually been any good in the premiership. they have thier moments but chelsea, arse and spurs have all had duds

My older brother used to be in the same academy team as Adam when they were about 12/13 and still keep in contact.I know that every player was on a 500k win bonus if we beat Coventry on the last day of the season and that Adam said he would pay for all the lads (his mates) to go on holiday to Ibiza in the summer.

Good man. Could've chosen a better destination though.

That's why I'm surprised Jay Rod was only on £22k. Unless of course the bonuses are seperate to weekly wages, in which case only the players who won promotion with us would benefit.

There's nowt wrong with Ibiza, unless you choose to stay in San Antonio with the rest of the non-heads!

What's a non-head? My experience was that it's just the same as clubbing in England - a couple of hundred people in a room, pretending to enjoy the music and pretending to be way more drunk than they actually are, when actually the only reason they are there is to find someone who will have sex with them. It was basically like going out in Luton, except bigger, hotter and more expensive. My mates and I had far more laughs at the ****ty hotel than we did on nights out. Luckily for us we found some girls staying there who despised the clubs just as much as we did.

I've never really understood the appeal of being crammed into a sweltering hot basement with terrible, repititive music so loud you can't hear yourself think. Is it any more than a vehicle for getting drunk and laid?

Am I being stupid (yes, yes...sit down at the back) do you really mean 500K each or did they share 500K? If each, what was the qualification...first team or certain number of games/

You're doing it wrong

No. And there are far better ways of doing both.
