I find this funny , Celtic fans stating Rangers should look to the future as opposed to the past , what's that 45 year old comfort blanket around their neck ?

Merely stating what observers see , it's like two junkyard dogs fighting over a lada tyre , for the Spl to prosper you need to shoot , jail , stop other Scots going to your games and start going to their local ones .

Could not agree more with you there , they won more in Europe in the 70's than Celtic ever have in Europe mind......

I have two wee cousins from Aberdeen.

They were both brought up supporting Aberdeen - my whole family from up there are dandies. But, Aberdeen's lean years came and coincided with the Murdoch-fuelled rise of the Premiership.

They now both support Man United - they still say they like Aberdeen but they have bought more Man U merchandise than Aberdeen stuff - one of them attends a few Aberdeen games a year but they both go to Old Trafford at least twice a season.

I don't know any Rangers or Celtic fans who have done this or would do this.

These supporters of other SPL teams have jumped ship to support English teams - not Glasgow teams.

Maybe the league being a bit fairer from now on will bring these people back - maybe the (eventually inevitable) collapse of the English Abu Dhabi Debt League will bring them back.

I'd say the latter is more likely - my mate supports St Mirren and tries to get his kids to support them too. They're not interested (I helped take them along with my young uns) - one wants a Man City shirt, the other a Liverpool shirt.

Maybe if our league was back properly on our terrestrial channels and teams outside of Glasgow won the league every now and again, they'd be part of a generation that backs their local side instead of being the first generation to be more interested in another country's league.

This is both the fault of the game in Scotland and the saturation of the TV market by the English game in Scotland.

So, rather than stopping Scots going to games in Glasgow (or shooting them!!!), perhaps we should cut off the EPL stranglehold on TV?

    Just a thought.

What about Queens Park then ? So you are telling me because of Sky the Scottish game is failing ? The football Leagues in England ate doing ok and the people are still watching the game locally yet people in Aberdeen now support United and Liverpool ?

    What about Queens Park?

They haven't been a big side for over a hundred years.

You don't see the parachute payments and the likes as well as attracting foreign players to lower English leagues in order to reach the Premiership as having an affect?

But still one of the most decorated side in Scotland , surely this points out and highlights the inequality ?

The failure of Scottish football for over the last 100 years is the issue , fault and problem .

English success (this can be argued) has nothing to do with the abject failure of Scottish football .

Agreed, I can remember the 90's and even early 00's were the only strips you would see people wearing was Rangers, Celtic and St Johnstone (for me) on peoples backs, especially the kids.

Now when ever I seen young kids in football tops, Its Barca, Man United, Man City and co.

We are only to blame for our own decline though and the internet age has made it much easier to support teams in different countries I suppose.

Scottish Football hit a massive downward spiral the minute the game was infested with the Roxburgh/Brown total shitbaw method.

Add to that a closed shop of a top league with a variation of 12 and 10 teams allowed to take part whilst playing each other 4 times a year along with 3 other ****e leagues of 10 below that has no punishment for finishing bottom and you have thick lumps of ****e drifting its way to the top of the pool.

Do I really need to explain what I meant, I thought it was pretty clear?

It seems you are even denser that I first thought, and I thought you were pretty dense to begin with.
