I'm half hoping he breaks his leg so no one buys him and then makes a miraculous recovery the day after the transfer window closes
It's incredible the number of times you see a player 'go up a gear' when either he wants a move or his contract is up for renewal. Anderton was an expert at it, so too was Ian Walker, and now we see Luka Modric doing the same.
The bit of skill when he beat the player then put it right on the head of the forward (who should have buried the header) was world class. I don't want to see him go but sort of can understand him wanting to play for someone like Real Madrid. As long as we get what he is worth then I won't hold any grudges (if he goes to Spain)
I would hate to see him go. However, it's looking more and more likely that he will. I'm sure that Levy will extract a weighty fee from the eventual buyer, though.
a swapping of shirts with iniesta too, and what appeared to be a few words from Iniesta in his right ear.
That's normal, I wouldn't read anything into it, atleast they didn't put a Barca shirt on him like they did with Fabregas.
I always thought that tonight was the time when we saw whether Modric could really cut it when playing against the truly world class midfielders, and you would have to say that he was probably one of the best players on the pitch even with Spain having 62% possession. I really, really hope he stays and I also now want Bilic as manager even more but sadly I think neither will happen
If it's true that Levy is courting the services of AVB, you can be certain that Modric won't be the only star we will lose. These are worrying times for us Spurs fans.
I said this a few weeks ago. AVB and Bilic. Bilic has since become an impossibility, so AVB is the only one of our realistic targets.
I really don't understand the obsession with Bilic. Yes he's done a very good job with Croatia over the years, but what has he ever done at club level to warrant getting one of the biggest jobs in the best league in the world? Lokomotiv is a realistic club for him considering his achievements in the game so far.
All I said is that he'd be most likely to persuade Modric to stay. I'd still rather Blanc or AVB ahead of him.
Modric staying or leaving depends on Levy and not the new manager or the ******ed media who want Chelsea, Man U and Man C to be the only successful clubs in England
