'Personally I'd like to apologise to the fans. I was terrible today. Its up to us to bounce back now on Tuesday at Barnsley.' Via QPR's official twitter.

Although I'm dissapointed with the loss I'm glad we have a group of players who are willing to apologise when we do lose. Especially considering the context of our season so far. Not many players apologise after a loss. Clint Hill could easily have written this off as one loss after many great performances for the fans, but no, he's apologised anyway!

A true gent. Let's see that bouncebackability now!

Warnock told Hill and Orr today to play as full backs
They misunderstood and thought he said play as foolbacks

I think he did, that system doesn't work with Hulse. IMO
    Even if he did score.

I'm assuming that Helgy wasn't fit. I'd have played Miller rather than Hogan, but otherwise I've no complaint. there was no way he was going to change the system, it has served us very well.

Let's all take it as a valuable lesson in Not getting carried away with ourselves. Forget it, and put it right at Barnsley.

Yeah **** happens, not being too critical, all I'm saying is for that system to work you need a mobile hard working striker
And IMO Hulse ain't that, but I trust in Warnock of course, he's fantastic!

Reading at home. Hulse won alot of headers, and I thought we played well. I can't think of another though.

Bristol City at home...he played very well as a link up man, winning a lot in the air and some good flick ons. Won a penalty.

He sadly also missed plenty of good opportunities to score! But that doesn't mean he doesn't fit into the system...just that he's not/wasn't all that great at finishing!

QPR boss Neil Warnock: "It was one of those days that sometimes happens in football. It was a game that we could and should have won. We were much the better team for the first half.

"We had the chances but we failed to take them. We have got the best defensive record in the Championship this season and one of the best I think in the whole of the Football League.

"But we didn't look like that today. I have no complaints about the result, we got what we deserved. But we've got to look ahead, we've got another game coming up on Tuesday [at Barnsley] and I already know the team that I'll be picking for that."

Yeah he tinkered, probably thought he could take a liberty with poor little Scunny and came unstuck!

Oh very good, Northolt, very good! Let's hope we get our cutting edge back, eh?

But what the ffff happened to our defence yesterday? The radio commentaries suggested that Orr was the weak link. We lacked the forward momentum that Taarby brings and that keeps opponents on the back foot, guessing. The gaffer tried to compensate by replacing Shaun with a big striker but it was too late to make a difference - especially with 'Dave' still firing blanks.

With the benefit of hindsight, I think we should play Buz at every opportunity to give him the chance to recapture his creativite best - he is the one man who has the potential to do some of the job Taarabt does. Hate to say it but it does seem that without that distraction for opponents and relief for our defence, we lack the spirit that has brought us to where we've got to so far - and we lack imagination and look a tad ordinary.

Hill's immediate apology says more about the quality of the man (referring to Warnock's earlier tribute to CH) than where the blame really lays.

As someone pointed out in another thread, Hulse for his part is at best a 442 man. He just isn't capable playing alone.

Moral of the story: never take those fighting for their survival for granted. Anyone can beat anyone in this league and particularly at this stage.

I suspect that NW has now learnt a bit more about his squad. I know it's easy to say after the event, but I did say to everyone at work on Friday the I wouldn't be surprised if we came unstuck at Scunthorpe. No damage done, still 9 points clear with Norwich losing. It doesn't hurt every now & then to have a kick up the rear end.
I fully expect us to not lose another game this season. Neil says he's already picked his team for Tuesday, so we'll see.
