Heard a rumour that SB has enquired about signing United's Nick Powell on loan. Would potentially be a great signing and could play the Koren role should he leave. I have a mate who is a Crewe fan and he has heard the rumour his end also, Powell was rated very highly down at Crewe and pretty much singlehandedly took them up last season.

He's meant to be a bit of a player this lad, I've heard.

I think he's expected to be given a chance at United sooner or later. If they decide to give him another year's loan I think he could be a very handy addition.

If he is going out on loan for Championship experience wouldn't we have first approach?[/QUOTE

I really hope we have first choice. Them Wendys seem to have nicked Leicesters delusion and are getting a bit ahead of themselves...

I think if Powell goes anywhere it will be to a Premiership club like Wigan.

He's got experience of first team football, he now needs experience of the Premiership.

There was a report on SSN in the week featuring Sandbach School (where Powell attended) & Dario Gradi. DG suggested that SAF had inferred he would go straight into the 1st team squad & be given a chance off the bench similar to that given to Ronaldo & Hernandez when they signed. He also said he wouldn't be going out on loan.

Seems abit risky for a young player only playing at League 2 level, look at how **** Bebe turned out

Just reporting what was said, although Crewe Alex in general are of the opinion that he is the best young player they've produced.

My lad has sent him a PM on facebook suggesting (tongue in cheek) City are the team for him, if he is to go out on loan.

Good on him, he does look like a quality player and perhaps if he came on loan to us he could develop like Cleverly did, without the injury hopefully

I might have mentioned before that Powell is awesome and I'd love it if we signed him.
