So, as England drew with Dave's lot it will still go down to goal difference?

Yes. So if France win by one and England by two, it will go to goals scored. However, look over at Italy's group and see the way they could be fu*ked over.

Funny thing is Ozzie, its been in for nearly ten years now and from the moment I heard it I thought it was ridiculous. Think about it. What better way could there possibly be than Points - Goal Difference - Goals Scored - yellow and red cards?

I seen tournaments for 13 year olds here decided by the number of corners won! A p*ssing competition into the Danube would be more fun.

In 1954, a blind boy decided Spain wouldn't be going to the World Cup.

    I'm a bit confused.com!!
Is it goals scored against everyone or the two teams tied on points?

If they're tied on points its the result between the two. If that was a draw -like England and France- then its G/D. If that's the same then its Goals Scored.

However, if three teams are tied on points and all drew with each other, then the highest scoring draw will send those two teams through and knock the third out even if they have a better goal difference. This could happen to Italy if Croatia and Spain draw 2-2.

It can't happen to England so just the first part of this post applies.

Yes, I am a proud and honest WUM and consider my job or task on here to highlight with self fulfilment some of what i consider to be nonsense posted by ego's who have let it get the better of them. I am the same as anyone else I enjoy this forum and the challenges it prompts to my own very inconsistent opinions. I have turned it off in the past but found it far too enjoyable as it has replaced a hole that was filled in the past by say reading a newspaper. I will make a further pledge that I will continue to do so and contribute to the entertainment we all enjoy this will i am sure ruffle a few feathers which brings me in particular a great sense of joy into my life. I feel I contribute to the enjoyment and i am always on the look out to learn something new as I feel none of us stops learning. My viewpoints will always remain debatable as at times they are designed to expose
If the laughter goes from here then it is lost and becomes very boring ... we will all come together as the new season approaches
    On England:
I love watching flair and freedom in football i call that expression and to me it's maybe why i love QPR. When you try and turn it into a super science combined with a anglo saxon culture ... it doesn't seem to work ... add on the expectation and pressure of a nation of that culture you arrive at the reason for continued failure... Sure maybe this system will eventually produce a prize even in this tournament and football may come home as the idiots put it ... Would it stay? IMO No the world has developed the game in a far more attractive way... the same could be said about things other than football ... English footballing pride has been it's own downfall . still you are only as good as your last game and England won so who knows?
If you have to take the time to think about the rules and scenarios of the competition then IMO you are lost. Win at all costs? that starts on the pitch and is in the mind of the players and collectively as a team ... all you and I can do is watch and the rest is all bollocks in some cases all three of them

Can't bring myself to read through 10 pages !!

Well done England you did us proud last night.

For the record I spent the entire game calling for welbeck to be subbed. :emoticon-0127-lipsse

@ Petehoops - reports are coming in that a smile was spotted breifly appearing on my face last night, however these are unconfirmed.

Never while you're around Odders. The more you post the better this forum is.

Continue ruffling feathers my son because once you stop expressing yourself you might as well Log out for good.

Besides, I can attack you all I want and you never get angry! :1980_boogie_down:

Where to start with such an incoherent rant!!?
You quite clearly have fallen out of love with your own country (if you were ever IN love with it!). You may as well move to a country where you will feel more at home mate.
What is wrong with looking at the rules of the competition FFS?
Dave....I find your posts very funny at times, but no one should take what you say seriously, as you simply say things for effect, often contradicting yourself. You're a WUM...but not in a bad way!!
