Thanks to Cartoon, here's the link: http://atouchfarvetched.wordpress.com/2012/06/15/its-laud-at-the-liberty/ If fans needed a lift after the departure of Brendan Rodgers then they sure as Hell got one today as a truly global superstar was unveiled as the man to take the club into its second centuryâ¦â¦talk about a top quality 100th birthday present for the club from Huw Jenkins and Co.!
Exciting times ahead I think. Cant wait to see what improvements he is going to make and who he can attract to the club.
dont be offended but Lets not start sucking his cock just yet is it?? the guy havent even walked theough the door of the glamorgan racket club to take a training session yet!! Im ****ing chuffed to bits that we got him but dont see the point showing videos of him kick a ball 15yrs ago, i wanna know if he can put what he had in his boots into his brain and help scotty and the others get better. i think he can
Top post manselton-jack ... I'm quietly confident but won't allow myself to go overboard . I'll wait till at least he assembles his new signings till I even start judging ... pretty happy with who he might have access to in the transfer market though , he seems he might carry a lot of weight with him like Rodgers did in the transfer market .
I got to tell you I was a little taken back with Phil happy with the new manager , were on new ground here Lol !!
I concur, I'm thinking about phoning Guiness to get this in their record book. Sorry Phil, couldn't resist
Ha ha, you could say I'm happy, the point is this, the squad will have some continental influence of the highest order, to help them develop our Swansalona style to it's fullest potential, going to be a great season! Dilli behave, and you Breezy............... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Lets take it easy lads, he has done nothing as yet but signed his contract. He as seen a few videos of swansea, its a start but i just hope it was not this week that he watched his first one
See your point Mabon but we gotta savour every moment while were up here ! Sousa had a good pedigree and did well but Laudrups is even better and so hopes are going to inevitably be higher ? Enjoy any highs you can grab because the lows seem to last a long time mate
Swantastic sorry if i appeared a little negative in my last post, but i may as well come out and say it Dai has had an easy run in the annual Victor meldrew award on this forum , and i dont mind saying that i am after his crown, so fellow jacks vote for mabon, i am getting the plug in early
I think i agree with Manselton Jack here, though i perhaps wouldnt have phrased it quite the same It is very exciting news and perhaps the first time in 6yrs that we have felt this much happiness about a manergerial appointment, but lets remember that this season is going to be much much harder! i beleive we caught a few teams out with just how well we can actually keep the ball, this will be worked on alot more by the opposition and to counter this we will need very shrewed investment in the playing staff. Defence and attack will need work, hopefully we can attract a higher standard of player under Laudrup to even things up,if we sign the right couple of players and remain very lucky with injuries again we will be in with a great chance of survival. The target is to avois relegation and it will be alot harder this time round, credit to Laudrup for taking this job as im sure he knows its going to be difficult, he is a winner and obviously thinks he is up to it !! Welcome to SCFC !! PS Dragon, love the video,if only the guy could still play !! im sure he will inspire the squad in the five a sides in training though
The last time i felt this happy about a swansea manager was when they sacked kevin cullis in reading services
This from Wikipedia: Laudrup was called up for the Danish national team during Brøndby's debut season in the top-flight. On his 18th birthday 15 June 1982 he became the then second youngest Danish national team player ever. And 30 years later to the day, on his 48th birthday, he becomes ............................... Yep you got it.
For me Huw Jenkins and the board deserve enormous credit. We are very lucky to be ran by intelligent guys who consistently make the right decision. First we get 7 million quid compensation because someone had the good sense to put in the right clauses in Brendan's contract. Then they select the perfect candidate once again...and I mean perfect. I don't care if we go down, might have gone down with Rodgers anyway, Laudrup is a perfect fit for us...ticks every box. We've got ourselves a manager who; - will command the respect of our squad and increase our chances of keeping the core squad together - has the necessary contacts to give us the advantage in the transfer market we absolutely depend on (what with relatively small resources) - has the charisma and reputation (Legend) to persuade a few players to pick us over rivals if he has several clubs/bids to choose from - is committed to playing our brand of football - has something to prove (ambition) - has had enough bad experiences at other football clubs to value our set up and stability, invaluable experience - and is a born winner
Agreed Terrorwit and no doubt Huw is wise to managers and players coming here getting success and using us as a stepping stone now he and our board are getting street wise in the prem and using it to our advantage ?
Top class indeed WSAF, all the stuff ive read about him says that he likes to train with the ball and teach players from his experiences, i got no problem with that, Rodgers studied the books but in fairness to laudrup,he actually had a part in the writing of them!! ( cruyff 's Barca dream team is the model that many credit with producing the short pop passing that we see us,spain and Barca use these days) To have the guy that was a part of the origional idea is fantastic and im sure having the ability to prove things to them with the ball will improve them as well, a Getefe player recons that Laudrup was still the best player on the pitch in training games !!
