OK. of course we should give Green and an ageing AJ a chance, MH too, he probably does know best. Nevertheless these signings if they are confirmed do not inspire me.
The figures for PL for AJ (as we arent in europe) and not against us as we obviously dont play ourselves. 0 goals in 19 apps. 3 in 27 before that 0 in 8 before that. Thats a goal a season, hes absolute ****e. A shocking player. Both Bothroys and DJ are better than him, so is HH, Zamora and Cisse. Id rather play Balanta than him.
They're not mate, honestly. I'd happily give DJ another chance but he needs a run of games which he won't get here. Bothroyd was a desperate free signing due to Briatore's tightness that I doubt even Warnock expected to be successful and he's played like an absolute tart in all but two or three games.
Yet still got twice as many goals a season in the PL as AJ has got in a season recently. Im not saying JB is good, far from it, Im just saying that AJ is that bad.
Johnson got 3 in 14 last year in the league, Bothroyd got 2 in 17. As a free signing, given Hughes knows he can get the best out of him with Zamora, it's worth paying a wage.
Those 3 were all against us, he didnt score all season against anyone else which is what we need him to do. He still couldnt score even with Zamora. 1.5 goals a season in his last 2 seasons with him.
Fulham must see us with a large 'M' stamped across our collective foreheads. First they offload to us a well respected but aging striker who is clearly not the man he once was and use the proceeds to bring in Pogrebnyak who proceeds to light up the PL. OK, so Johnson won't net Fulham any further funds but they are well aware he is also well past his best and will not be sorry to have him off the wage bill - Jol wil no doubt be looking for young blood to replace him. This is the first time I have had genuine alarm bells about MH's strategy as I simply can't see the value in such a move to a club already heavily dominated by older professionals and with no shortage of similar forwards.
Excactly, we are the dumping ground for ageing crap strikers, Cisse and HH (who still both have it)Just thing of the wages spent on DJ, JB, AJ. we could get someone on 90k a week and hed score more than all 3 combined and still save money. They are just doing to us what we will do to leeds, offload crap and get someone capable in.
Yeah they've definitely come out of the Zamora for Pog deal well, but Hughes record in the transfer market is a good one so we should trust him.
This. Totally messing with the facts as usual. Saying he only scored 1 goal last Season and discounting the ones he scored against us is preposterous. Really Flyer, do you think our Board-Members are that thick as to not see through this miserable attempt at playing with the figures?
Preposterous! Isn't this about the same as what you been banging on about Tevez, his initial violence don't count as it wasn't from our team?
@QPRTimes #QPR fans, I'm told that Andy Johnson's move to Loftus Road is imminent, ie within days. Johnson keen to work with Mark Hughes again.
Yes, Swords is right. You can cut and paste statistics to say anything you like. Bottom line - whether AJ is a good take will depend on who else MH brings in. If he uses his budget to bring in a couple of stunning players, then having a lively AJ come off the bench in the last 15 may be a good strategy.
