I was thinking of going (still tempted as I'm a lot closer than you) but I can barely walk, having played my first game in 3 years on Wednesday (first real exercise for 6 months). 2.5 hours of footie was fine. As soon as it finished I just seized up and my knee is playing up.

My valuable lesson is that if you're over 30 and you've got dodgy knees it's time to retire! :emoticon-0116-evilg

Having said that, I hope it's cleared up for next Wednesday so I can cripple myself some more.

It is a nice setting playing footie in Hyde Park, just a shame to later find out that they were pulling the body of one of the undergrads from my department from the Serpentine the same day.

You wait until you're 46 with dodgy knees, I sometimes play, then drive to London first thing the next morning and when I get there I can't get out the bloody car. We were on track to win the league, but we lost to the second place team(while I was in Hong Kong, so it nothing to do with me) and now we're five points ahead, with the second place team having two games in hand and they've only lost one game all season.

Here's hoping they draw one then! I think I've developed Folanitis and have got a bit of fluid on the knee. Luckily my office has 3 knee implant specialists in it who can probably diagnose better than my GP (although one of them told me to get it checked out re: fatty lumps whatever that means?!?)

I had really bad ligament trouble, but a friend of mine in Hong Kong nagged me into going to see an acupuncturist and they're much better now.

Can she come to New York? I might have to postpone any further footie this summer until I get back otherwise I'll probably struggle to make it up the Statue of Liberty.

I've only got myself to blame. Was dancing at a wedding last month and my wife just buckled. Rather than letting her fall to the floor I decided to use my leg as a cushion. Just think I've aggravated that.
