I used to watch them sometimes many years ago, 40p to get in! They won the Sussex senior cup in 1927.
Cricket was always no1 though, with Priory Park, near North street, being a beautiful place to watch some grass roots cricket. These two images look to have been taken from (or very near to) my favourite bench.
