We already have an attacking full back on that side, how many times last year did Simpson get caught out of position and it cost us a goal West Brom at home and Arsenal away in the last minute spring to mind.
Not to mention ****ing Brighton

Debuchy is alot more attack minded than Simpson. Simpsons biggest problem is is backing off from an opponent.
To be honest he's not done that, that much this season. 90% of his recent bad games have been when the rest of the team have been ****.
He gets a lot of undeserved ****. He's a solid RB, but we should try and sign better for our level.
I hope he stays, he'd be a fantastic 3rd choice, and to be honest, he's definitely currently more solid at the back than Santon.
Santon is the better all round player, no doubt, but Simpson has experience, he can read the game well, and tackle well.
Santon's tactical side of the game still needs a lot of work.
This is why I love our 4-2-1-3 system, because it gives our wingers more freedom and chance to attack and do some damage,
but if we had an attacking fullback + Ben Arfa on a side, that could be pretty much suicide, and we can't rely too much on CDM's to cover wings.
Have to say everyone I watched with last night was a Newcastle supporter. About 30mins in we all looked at each other and said "yep that's him not coming to us" I think he'll get a really big offer now. Indeed I would not be surprised to see him rock up at Man U.
Attack is the best form of defense![]()
Keegan got 2nd with that tactic here.
Indeed. Beresford once famously said... 'we never trained in defending... just attack, attack, attack'
That's what CDM's are supposed to do when you have attacking full backs in the side, and its what people fail to see when Ashley Cole or Glen Johnson get caught high up the pitch by a counter attack. They are guaranteed to be too high up the pitch from time to time to get back into their defensive position, so its up to the centre backs and defensive midfielders to plug the gap.
