Looking at (before clicking on) the goal.com link, the £42m would come in handy, though!

The bid by West Ham is £4.2m. Would be nice if it was £42m! The impression that we getting from the media is that Holt wants away so let's take the highest bid going. At 31, Holt is only likely to have no more than 1/2 good seasons left (in the Prem) and although he has been a fans favourite for 3 years perhaps it's time to move on. Hughton is rumoured to want to have Davis from Birmingham so this would be a direct repalcement for Ayala reputed to be in Lambert's thoughts. Also, Hughton seems to want a Birmingham striker which would also be a direct replacement for Holt. So, Ayala and Holt away seems very probable. Hope Chris Martin and Vaughan start to fire on all cylinders - if so we should have enough firepower to keep up the high scoring rate.

    Martin isn't a prem striker
Vaughan is very injury prone - think it would be wrong to rely on him
The Brum striker (Zigic) isn't, IMO, good enough for the Prem or a suitable replacement for Holt
I doubt Ayala will leave - PL needs players now - not potential.
Davis would be a good signings alongside Bennett with Ayala filling in.

£6,000,000? I would want way more than that for Holt!

I can't see McNally accepting any less than 5 mil, bare minimum. If no one comes in with an offer above that then Grant stays a Norwich player, regardless of whether he's happy working with Colin Calderwood or not.

As for this not happy with Calderwood bollocks, sorry it's called being professional I have had to work with people I didn't like, y'know what I got my head down and just got on with it and I am paid a DAMN sight less money than Holty so I have precisely this much sympathy >< for his situation

Errrrr i'm pretty sure no one has said that ever mate <laugh>

I wouldn't presume to speak on behalf of other city fans but i'm more than happy for him to stay, he's like Lambert no matter what he'll ALWAYS* be our hero. Ok he might have behaved like a twat recently but who hasn't at some point (and some do it all the time!)

*Unless God forbid he signed for Ipswich then they'd become total c**ts but lets face it that'd never happen <laugh>

Slow down a bit and realise that all of this is speculative journalism (er fabrication) by the Mirror. Don't panic lads and wait for genuine information!

I don't buy all this Lambert is after our players nonsense. Surely he would be after better with the money/wages he can afford? They have Dunne and Ireland who are both better than Ayala (who I like) so why would he want to go? The only player I can see going is Naughton TBH

If Holt goes and we get good money then I have no problem.I think he will go to West Ham actually but then again that is not going to impress Carl Cort or Vas Te! We should be then looking at replacing Holt with something better! Please stop the sentimental attachment with players/managers who will try and eek as much out of clubs and then move on. We could get better in you know!!

Here's an example, who would you rather have Defoe, Jelvic, Berbatov, Odemwinge, Crouch, Wellbeck, Bent (!!), Dempsey...etc? All you could debate are better than Holt. Now of course we cannot afford them yet, possibly never will but can you see that there are BETTER players out there than what we have currently. As a club that is wanting to move forward we should be looking to attract these as well as promising starlets from lower down i.e. Rhodes

As Beef says, get as much in as you can if players want out and move on to hopefully better players.

    Rumours for you to laugh at or wish for;

    DJ Campbell from QPR
Curtis Davies and Nathan Redmond from Brum
    Rhodes from Huddersfield
Charles NZobia - Get back at Villa and friends with Hughton
    Nick Powell
    Lansbury
    Nathaniel Clyne
    Chris Gunter
Snodgrass - but would see him at Villa!!

Last one for you, if not Naughton, Ryan Betrand on loan!!
