It sounds like we are already being linked with a lot of high profile players since Bruce's appointment. It could be that the interest is genuine but there's also a possibility that the manager is just trying to create a bit of a buzz around the club in the press and football in general.
If he does it well players will see City as ambitious and aiming for promotion. That will not only help us to compete for higher calibre signings, but also reassure any of our current squad who were beginning to get itchy feet that we are on the up.
He probably will need a big name signing early on though to make this more convincing - my guess is Heskey or possibly Negredo??

How about Zak Whitbread or Clint Hill as a back-up centre-half for Chester and Hobbs?

Craig Gordon would be a brilliant signing if we could get him as first-choice keeper.

James McFadden is another decent player to look at.

All more experienced than what we have at the minute as well.

Would Bramble be alright in the Championship ?

He's prone to having shockers but dropping down a league might sort that out.

You'd like to think Steve Bruce, as a proven good manager, would recognise there is hardly a need to change a defensive line-up that was second meanest in the league last season.

You'd hope he would recognise, if it aint broke why mess around with it? We should sign a quality CB from the Prem who is looking to recover fitness or who has been forced out, on loan for 6 months.

That being said I would be very pleased to see Ant Gerrard come back on a permanent.

But it is broke. Hobbs is injured so do we stick with Cooper and Bradley as cover?

I have always rated LC but if we are really serious about a promotion push I would expect another centre half to be signed.
Liam has about a dozen games under his belt and Bradley non at any real level.

Bramble is a bit of a donkey by PL standards but could be a good player at Championship level.

Has he ever been convicted of any pest type offence???

If he has then balls to signing him. I'd rather we didn't go up then sign beasts.

I think we'll keep The Big Bang Theory jokes to ourselves, I doubt anybody else watches it...

BBT is something I knew nothing about until my eldest son introduced me to it. I thought it would be just another mindnumbingly shyte american adolescent comedy but in actual fact it's really funny. It's a bit like a teenagers Cheers.
