http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2805690,00.html Brilliant news! after the turmoil of the past few weeks our club seems to be getting back on the right track. Hopefully he'll be made captain next season if Holty goes, a true professional.
Great news just keeps on coming... http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2805690,00.html?
It's fantastic news, fully deserves and probably gets my vote for captain next year. Incidently Hogey was it really turmoil and were we ever off track? But great couple of days for NCFC
Certainly felt like it, perhaps the club itself wasn't off track, but as a fan losing possibly the greatest manager in the clubs history and the talismanic captain handing in a transfer request after the fairy tale of the last few years was a bit galling.
Fantastic news, really really great news He's a model pro, and a fantastic footballer. Well worth it.
Versatility, a concept we at Norwich have only discovered within the last few years Quality CB, Dependable RB. Great news!
Suppose it felt like it, hindsight though I feel really positive now. Think the Holt thing needs sorting ASAP though. But yeah Russell Martin fantastic pro and not sure if anyone read his interview the other day about that Colitis problem he had but was a great read and you realise he must of had a tough time and yet he still managed to play!
Great news for both Russ and the club. Top player - versatile, dependable, loyal, model pro. Well done Russ - well deserved.
Outstanding news. A top pro who has been fantastic for us and is clearly loving life at the club. Very happy!
Apart from being excellent news in itself, having a player who is held in such high regard by his team mates committing himself to the club and looking forward so positively, rather than back, is brilliant. He may only be 26, but he has a lot of experience and a level head. A great message to any of our less experienced players wondering about the future here post-Lambert. Coupled with CH's arrival and what was said yesterday by DM and AB, a lot of questions and doubts in players' minds must have been settled.
Couldn't have put it better myself. Too see one of the more experienced players commit to the club just offers even more stability to the squad. My biggest fear when PL left was about players wanting to follow. Definitely setting example to the youngish players. Not that Russell Martin is old but compared to our squad he is one of the most experienced.
“It’s brilliant. I’m extremely delighted, my family and I are really happy around here,” said Martin, whose previous contract ran out in 2014. “It’s a pleasure and an honour to be playing for a club of this size and stature. Firstly great news. Reading the newspaper article I couldn't help but pick up on the fact that his existing contract ran out in 2014. Isnt that when Holt's expires too! The Norfolk Cafu sat tight and waited for things to pan out sensibly and the outcome has been positive for all concerned. Perhaps Holty's agent should take note about how to do business with the McNasty!
It is very good news seeing Russell Martin signing a three year contract, and has done an excellent job in right back and central defense, hope we see more players signing new deals and showing commitment to the club.
