To Dynamo Kiev, according to SSN. Apparently, a fee has been agreed, and Kranjcar wants to go. Shame to see him go as he was a great squad player - if not regular starter. However, you can understand his wanting more game time.
Underrated, surprised he wasn't snapped up by a prem club, but then again I'm surprised Kuyt walked out the door for so little too.
How much is the fee? I`d value him at around £10m when you consider what Liverpool pay for way inferior players to Niko.
It will be interesting to see what the fee is. I can't remember what we paid for him but I do remember it was ridiculously cheap. Kranjcar is a good player and scored some good goals for us (remember the one against City and the last minute screamer against Bolton). I think his reluctance to track back went against him with Harry, but I hope he does well with Kiev, he deserves to be getting regular football.
Doesn't say at the moment. Just that a fee has been agreed. Personal terms to be agreed. Although I can't see that being a problem for Dynamo.
Shame he never got more game time. Had some memorable moments whilst at Spurs most notably his 2 goals against City a couple of seasons back. Was also involved in that drubbing of Wigan. Then the screamer to seal the points against Bolton. Also our best looking player, which isn't hard tbf with freaks like Luka n co in the team
Around £2.5mill, although I might be thinking of Pienaar. Glad he's going abroad, I think he might've come back to bite us on the arse had he not. Always seemed like a nice guy in interviews but ultimately I felt he struggled to stay involved in the games he played in last season so I'm pleased we haven't tried to keep him.
yeah i thought it was about 2mill YV, so 2.5 may well be right. shame to see him go, always admired Kranjcar. best of luck to him! tots, in reply to your comment about "deadwood".... they are "deadwood" for a reason!!
One of my favourite players, so sorry to see him leave, but can understand why. Can't say exactly that I blame Redknapp for continually refusing to play him, bearing in mind the quality of our midfield, but it is a shame that he never got more game time for us.
Haig - you're slipping...a posting with no dig at Liverpool! was willing to bet you'd at least have had a pop at downing or henderson
I need to take a rest from all the 'Pool-slapping at some point, my friend, if only to give the back of my hand time to recover.
is he joining Bilic's team? i think we will see now what a superb player we had at our club. and we will also see why some were wanting Bilic to come to us.
He's joining Dinamo Kiev, a Ukrainian team Bilic is heading to Lokomotiv Moscow, a Russia team... Croatian players do seem to do well in the Ukraine, though - a fair number of their national team play there (notably Srna and Eduardo), so all the best. I'd rather we kept him, so is it possible to send Bentley over there and hope nobody notices?
I was/still am a huge Kranjcar fan, he has excellent technique and control, and strikes the ball as well as anyone in our squad for me. I'll never forget his goal against City where he ran through the defense like it wasn't there. He's a classy player who I feel was wasted a bit when played wide right, he would have benefited from playing the VdV role IMO. Sad to see him go, and what a steal he was for all of £2.5 million
Sad to see Kranjcar go, the more so after having finally learned to spell his name. It is understandable given the players available, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see both him and dos Santos turn into stars. In both cases, it was not only the strength of the competition, but the fact they landed in Harry's doghouse, Kranjcar for not tracking back, dos Santos because he can only play one way, and it's not really Spurs' way.
