Wasnt he Chief of Staff to the Bartlett administration in the West Wing? Bloody hell, if he's in charge of him then he really is a big deal!

Didn't know Sean rush had been released big shame if true, a hull lad whose been with us a few years, liked the way he celebrates like a fan when we score and gets involved with the opposition bench when it kicks off, got sent to the stands in one game I seem to remember

Based on the circumstancial evidence admittedly, but I'm quite suspicious about Robinson because he came to the club as a friend of Ehab (not sure if he was appointed directly by him - but someone will no doubt know).
Then there's the fiasco with Barmby and suddenly all of the talk is about Davies (Robinson's mate) as his replacement.
That suggests he at least had influence in the choice of NB's successor, but the opportunity was also there for him to affect the breakdown of relations between the Allams and Nick in the first place in order to pave the way for Davies.
Call it a conspiracy theory if you want, but all in all I wonder whether Robinson is the Allam's spy in the camp and this improved job rumour would certainly back that up.

you mean they don't do that? not a dig either, but wakey wakey! they generally print or broadcast what they told. they would be scared stiff to do the job of a Professional journalist. Turkeys and Xmas spring to mind!

My point was a general one in response to your original point, which came across as 'damned if they do, damned if they don't' sort of response. In terms of 'wakey wakey' I spent my professional life in broadcasting my friend and now teach it. Also, I have won and maintained an Ofcom radio broadcasting licence so I know a little bit about what I'm talking about.

I am not defending newspapers as they are able to hold a political stance, however, I will defend the broadcasters who can't. I'll begin with this, in my time in broadcasting and since (33 years), the reporting of a story or not depends upon how accurate/authentic the sources are and if they can be corroborated. If not, they say nothing until they can be. If there's any doubt and it is speculation they can say it but must source that speculation. I have seen some ferocious arguments between senior broadcast management and broadcast journalists over the smallest of details. In the end, senior editors are the most cautious of folks. If anyone really thinks that any senior broadcast journalist/editor or BBC Managing - editor/IR Programme director would risk 1) a massive fine from Ofcom, 2) censure from Ofcom or worse still 3) demotion/loss of post then frankly they're mad. I might remind you that one D-G of the BBC fell on his sword over a detail. I could give you a shed load of examples and a clearer articulation of broadcasting/media law and would be happy to do so via a PM, if you wish. However, my point is that they get it wrong at times, who doesn't, and I'm as critical as anyone with the likes of G who tries to wind people up in a superficial way, but 'they' as in broadcasters don't just 'generally print or broadcast what they're told' or make up news. That's just plain wrong/urban myth I'm afraid...

    Cheers

If true this does point more towards Davies than ever before and is a compelling argument for him being appointed. The only difficulty I have is understanding why he hasnt been appointed yet? Unless they're saving on a month's salary by saying "look, you've got the job, you can do some planning and thinking about players but you dont officially start until 10th June". It's not unheard of in the wider business world and some of the other cost cutting measures are more mental than this...

I agree with you BCC. The other thing is of course getting the whole jubilee thing out of the way and launching this as a big story without any distraction. I guess we'll know tomorrow...won't we??? :cheesy:

Wasn't his contract up? I assume we still hold his registration or is he free agent?? Again I wonder if DR, given his role has advised the Allam's on Garcia? Or, was that what you were hinting at?

I suppose one good point is that the Allams now have someone they 'trust' in a important role. And at least he's got a footballing background which they don't.

As he was the first person appointed under nick's spell as manager but not seemingly by nick I'm guessing he was treated with some suspicion especially due to his friendship with ehab, just hope his promotion is the result of his abilities at coaching and not with his brown tongue

I recall asking Premiertiger if NB and DR got on, his reply was something along the lines of that they wouldn't be 'exchanging Christmas cards'. I sense there was a split fairly early on in the back room/management set up. Moreover, I wonder if this spilled over to the players. I'd be interested to know if either OLM or premier tiger had heard anything about this sort of tension. Ok, I know it's history and we move on, but it might explain an awful lot.

What the hell are City doing making announcements from a PR company rather than the already existing media team? This worries me a bit, professional football clubs - or indeed any business - should not have PR companies making statements when they already have an in-house team. The external agency works as a supporing arm and ALWAYS feeds into the in-house team and this is the first time in my career Ive heard of the agency making a supposed official statement.

My PC's playing up so I can't see all the info, but isn't a statement for Robinson, not the Club? Either way it looks more like a reply to an enquiry than an official statement on the little bit I can see.
