It's a dating site, you'll need to learn not to take every rejection so personally! Don't take it as a slant on you, she doesn't know you, just your online profile. As I'm sure someone in here said, it's a numbers game. Message as many people as possible as some won't reply, some will end up being horrendous and you'll find the occasional good one.

True, true, just I sometimes have a tendency go from being very optimistic to very pessimistic and vice versa. It's being a Portsmouth fan I think, it's starting to affect me!!!!

your profile didn't mention Pompey did it?

might be an explanation of sorts

Ha! I was tempted to but didn't, just in case I meet an attractive Southampton fan, and would need to keep the fact that I'm a 'skate' from her (which might be hard if we played each other in the cup though)!

Strikes me this whole dating online thing is a lot like looking for a job. (Enter punchline here)..

I don't see the harm in approaching different ladies, just like there should be several job applications on the go.
Sure most girls will want to know you're not a psychopath before meeting in person so if they ever respond all the better! Dating should be fun so I wish you luck in your search and I'm sure we're all looking forward to hearing some interesting tales. Being Summer you should definately go to some nice festivals (beer/music/best buns) and maybe meet some date-able peeps!

Ha, as someone attempting to do both I'd agree with that. Although I think there's less emphasis on 'experience' in online dating :p

I'd love to go to a music festival but they all sell out aaaaaaages before hand. Maybe I can win some itunes festival tickets :D

On a similar note, when I was getting married to my wife when we lived oop norf, her boss (a then 55 year old Wiganer) put his arm around my shoulders and gave me the following advice:

"Son, keep her well shagged and short of cash. If she's well shagged, she won't go looking elsewhere for it and if she's short of cash, she won't be able to afford to"

I have to say I received similar advice from an old boy I worked with only he added "When your wife is in the mood never ever turn her down. She doesn't deserve that."

I have the feeling he had learned that the hard way.

I was also told to have some personal pride and be careful where I dip it. Before you go shagging anyone ask yourself "Would I want this person to be the mother of my child?" and if the answer is no then keep it in your pants.

As a consequence my mantra in life has always been "Be very careful where you spill your sperm".

I am really quite surprised that neither Beddy nor Channon have pulled this thread. They have either not read it or are on holiday.

On the other hand perhaps they have read it and are picking up a few useful tips and therefore leaving it to run!

They're both getting on a bit you know.

Beddy is probably asking his missus what a 'date' is while Channon is asking his great grand-daughter what date it is <whistle>

Meanwhile, brendy is busy watching the cricket <ok>

By rights, this thread should have gone ages ago. And yet it is still here. Complete mystery to me. It doesn't mean that a similar thread wouldn't be closed immediately. Let's call it an anomaly.

As for me getting on a bit, that is an outrageous bit of cheek coming from one of our "most senior" members.<laugh>

No we are definitely not on holiday.......because we do not post does not mean we are not about. We do not normally pull posts unless we have to. In this case it was quiet on the football front we didn't get too many complaints and we didn't get too many copy cat off line posts. As soon as we get some decent football activity then things will be different. However As Channon has said this should not be taken as cue to launch more off topic threads because that could mean the lot could be closed.
Devon thinks I am too old to remember a date???????........ what ever next. The only trouble I have is deciding what a date tree looks like......<laugh> and where to see them. One of my favorite fruits.........
