This is a great thread, has caused me to forget what I should have been doing and now have to run around like a crazy..

Before that tho, I have some advice that worked for me - try not to think about 'dating' or 'nude fun' when there's someone you like. Just find out what interests they have and this can help you. I say this cos it was a way for me to get in their lives - if I knew someone was moving I'd offer to help, if I knew a bar they went to I'd end up there with a friend, even found out a band they liked and made a cd..Then later on I'd say 'you're very cool, we should hold hands' to see the reaction. Most the time they'd laugh, or run screaming, but a couple of times they would and it was awesome. It's hard if you're shy, but there's nothing to lose, removing the pressure of dating and still getting to see them can be great. Never worked all the time, but nothing does, there's always someone cooler or the person is a git. Course if you just want nude fun just go clubbing and work out whose overly drunk..:emoticon-0104-surpr

    I see, interesting advice.

In other news I signed up for Ok Cupid, which is an amusing site. One of the main way you match with people is through question but some of them are bizarre to say the least. One is:

"In a certain light, nuclear war would be exciting?" with the options "Yes it would" or "No it wouldn't", what kind of question is that to ask on a dating site? <laugh>

If by "exciting" they mean "horrific in every way possible" then yes. That is probably the stupidest question I have ever seen. If you answer yes, you are likely to end up with someone crazy though... ;)

Anyone up for a shag? Preferably female and not a Pompey fan. But would probably accept male Pompey fan at this stage.

Firstly, Banana - please tell of jen's exploits on here <laugh>

Secondly, online dating is a numbers game. Message every girl you're interested in because they will be one of the following - Shallow, boring, a freak and on the odd occasion actually normal <ok>

Oh I answered yes for some reason, but yes it would be pretty horrific. And Southampton would probably be one of the targets, unfortunately. As would London and near where I live too..... but I doubt it'll happen (hopefully!)

You're coming across as bit desperate, mate. <laugh>

I'm sure rumours of Jen's promiscuity are greatly exaggerated! Saying that she apparently had a crush on me for a while which I didn't realise, and no she didn't sleep with me (or even try to.... unfortunately!)

Probably right about online dating though, I'm not sure I have thick enough skin for online dating tbh. I'll take each no response personally probably <laugh>

How titillating! There are actually some girls on the banter/Saints page with working faces, it's not all Sophie Joneses.

The thing is with internet dating is that most people are much more brazen then they would be in the 'real world'...by which i mean, that it is easy to ignore/overlook someone online, people are likely to be shallow and not give you a chance! However like with 'real world' you have to be prepared and expect to get knocked back a lot more then you get a positive response. A bit like when applying for jobs and 95% of the time you don't even get a response...its bloody annoying, but you are putting yourself out there which is commendable in the first place and the people that don't reply are probably not right for you anyway. You seem like a top bloke Lapras, so keep on plugging away mate. Internet dating can work, don't expect it to but try all the same. I have mates that have internet dated.. some have tried hard and got nothing back, and another had a 6 month relationship out of it after about a week on it (plenty of fish, seems to be a decent one to try in terms of being free and a lot of people on it) although being free you are always going to get some tools. You don't have to be a super confident guy to get the girl, but putting in the ground work...without making it look like your trying to hard is a good way to go. I didn't have any sort of girlfriend until i was 17, had a girlfriend for about 2 months, then a year or so later I ended up with my current girlfriend and we have been together ever since and I certainly wouldn't call myself confident or particularly good looking just lucky. Hope you get some luck Lapras, it's all you need!

That's just another way of asking "have you ever played Fallout?"

I don't know where to start with this thread. I didn't see it yesterday and I was too busy at work to log on today
There is quite a bit of off-topic stuff on at the moment so a bit of latitude is shown during the closed season but reading this thread, it's a bit like kissing your brother's girlfriend in a lift; just wrong on so many different levels.
You all know the rules on here and if we get a complaint it will have to go.

As far as Internet dating is concerned, I have been married to Mrs Fodder for almost 20 years and sincerely hope never to have to try it. I don't feel inclined to give you singletons any advice anyhow. I was just very lucky<ok>

Yeaaaah, some of the comments have been a bit harsh. Poor Jennifer.

Thanks, very kind words and helpful advice as well. Thanks, hope I get some luck as well!

Yeah pretty much, a few other people said yes as well so perhaps they've played Fallout lol

I don't think it's the nukes that tempt people, rather the chance to experience a totally anarchic society where it's every man for himself and there are no laws. It does sound kinda fun.
