I think Dann would be a decent acquisition. He's got plenty of premier league experience now, but shouldn't demand big wages. Would be an improvement on Fonte in my opinion, who has looked quite unsteady most of this season, and I worry about his ability to step up to PL standard to be honest.

Agreed <ok>

At the beginning of the season, if you asked me if Fonte could play in the Prem, I would have said yes, he's our best defender. Now, I don't think he can step up, and he worries me with how physical/many free-kicks he gives away.

This is about the 20th time Scott Dann's name has appeared on this thread, and once again I say "Yes I will support any signing we make" as well as "my god, he's poor - never pushes his defence up the pitch and is constantly relegated". Personally I think we can do better, but the fact he keeps cropping up is interesting.

I'm sure you're all interested in my pick for centre back and so I suggest Bruno Manga, great player currently in France. Also for the defence Cuellar, versatile and Villa will miss him.

I can't speak for my fellow fans, but I for one don't envy you. You are taking a risk buying a player that has no real experience of the Premier League, just like we did last season. £7m seems like a lot of money for him, if I'm honest.

Fair enough - no doubt it's a gamble, usually our board only make calculated risks and for all Saints fans we're just excited to see so much money being offered. Used to be us selling bright youngsters!
Saw you guys had a thread about Jay set up and figured that teams like Norwich, Stoke and Villa maybe a little worried at one (if not all) of the promoted teams buying up talent to finish outside the bottom three. Makes things a little trickier to predict doesn't it?! As I said, I like Norwich, just surprised by the interest in our business!

Craig Cathcart anyone? Just firing another random name out there.

Good on FM (hardly surprising as a former Man U player) but in the real world he's a bit of a donkey. We can do better.
