Got to be Germany for me. Some excellent young players like Muller, Badstuber, Gotze an also experience with Lahm, Schweinsteiger etc.

I will be putting £10 at 10/1 that England will win......why not Denmark and Greece have won this when not fancied at all. My wife wants to put £10 on France at 12/1 (betfred odds appar)....also seems a good bet.

How is he a turncoat? He didn't say he'd be cheering the other team.

Spain,Germany and Holland are miles better than the rest of the teams in the tournament.
Ukraine may not be the best side in the tournament, but they are at home, so have a good chance of getting through the group stages, whereas if England make it to the quarter finals it will be an achievement, but as soon as they have to play a half decent side they will get knocked out.

After watching Gomez against Chelsea I cannot see what the big fuss is about him, his first touch has been awful whenever I have seen him in the Champions League. Still think Germany will challenge, but Spain and France looks good bets. As for outsiders maybe someone like Russia, if you can consider them outsiders.

Gotta be more positive lads. If we can get a result against France, we can go all the way! Plus we got Oxlade-Chamberlain for God's sake, Southampton YOOF!!!

As good as Chamberlain is, I doubt he will play a huge part personally

We have had good teams in the past and underperformed...I reckon we have an average side this year and they will over perform. Therefore we will go out in the first knockout stage, but am not overconcerned as I think England will be stronger for the World Cup. It's time that England started planning long term. My prediction: a European side will win this summer!

We'll get through the group stage, but it'll be very difficult to get much further. There's no shame in losing in the knockout stages as they are all difficult games. To be honest though, our quarter-final is likely to be against Spain or Italy, and I can see us beating Italy. I'll tip Russia and Poland to upset the odds a bit, as they both look well-organised and have some decent players. Anyone who thinks Ukraine will do well is mad, considering the group they're in, coupled with their pretty poor squad. I can't see them winning a game to be honest.

My predicted quarter-finalists: Poland, Russia, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, England, France.
    It's anyone's game from there.

I think Germany will win it. I reckon we will get knocked out in the first knock-out round.

I don't think Spain will do much as they are short of strikers. They've only got Soldado and Llorente and Torres who is the shadow of the player he was 4 years ago...Plus Puyol is out and Xavi is getting on a bit...

In the last World Cup they only used Llorente and Torres up front. I know Villa played but he was wide left some of the time. I am not sure it will be so easy for Spain this time but they certainly are not a poor team, but maybe expectation on them is too high.

Not sure Gomez is going to help much - he doesn't score at major international tournaments.

John Ruddy ruled out for England with broken finger - Jack Butland called up as replacement

Johnson & Welbeck missed training yesterday, and are presumed doubts although they should make it
