I just had a thought... I may be being stupid here but, when was the last time we actually signed a player from a division or two below us? We've all been banging on about who we can now snap up from the Championship (i.e. Ince, Rodriguez etc) but I remember thinking the same about swooping on League One's "hidden gems" last year.

There are still gems in L1, we just pay less attention to them because we're no longer in L1. Hopefully someone is paying attention because there are players there who are good enough to play at a higher level and not just the obvious ones like Rhodes.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before. I know we were talking about needing that midfielder that would just sit there and clean up in front of the back four. Surely a cheeky little move for Clarence Seedorf would be worth a punt seeing as he has been released by AC Milan. He might be 36 but would still have a good couple of years in him.

I've said that before. He's sheer class. Although I'm not sure he'd just be able to sit there, he's rather attacking even in his old(ish) age.

He has that sort of Yaya Toure mentality about him. Could sit back but if needed could break forward. Plus with NC video and his italian charm I am sure he could sway Mr Seedorf.

We could do with a central midfielder that gets forward and scores goals.. ;)

I think Morgan would suit that role (he is slowly finding those scoring boots.) If was able to get forward more as both him and Cork are similar type of player. Both like to break forward meaning one has to sit back. Allowing us to let Lallana have free roaming ability on the pitch.

Think Frei will have a big season for Fulham this year, especially if Dembele goes. Itchen North Matt is right about League 1 gems, wasn't too long ago that Lallana, Schneiderlin and Lambo were in that bracket! Others like Pilkington spring to mind too.

You mean what Schneiderlin does?

Apparently an interesting transfer rumour to be posted on the mirror site before 12 tonight according to twitter reports........ so who do people think we will be linked with this time.........

On another note, diame of wigan? He's like Yaya Toure lite.

As some posters will know yaya toure is my favourite prem player so would be a dream getting in diame would really help connect defense to attack in midfield. Smashing strike on him as well.

I thought Diame was out of contract this summer? He may of just signed a new deal, either way hes not coming here.

EDIT: he is out of contract and is wanted by a load of top sides apparently

Richardson has (assuming it is a real account) earlier today said good luck to Jaidi and Chappers on twitter...
Could be true, Chaplow is a a Burnley fan as well I believe?

Burnley fan through and through. Has stated that he would absolutely love to play at Turf Moor again.

He was very committed to our cause, as expected. However if NA has sat him down and said he is unlikely to get many appearances next season then who knows.

Fair play to the lad if true.., Deserved of his praise.. and good luck to him
