Immediately after the end of the season, I swore I would believe nothing until confirmed. A few weeks later, I would rather see us falsely linked with anyone rather than have us not mentioned at all. Typical fickleness of a football fan.

Exactly this!

I thought Ince looked a lot better than Phillips over the last 6 weeks of the season. More pacy, more tricky and more direct. But I'd take either!

I can definitely see us finally unloading Puncheon, as despite the 'kiss and make up' he has once again quickly fallen out of favour for one reason or another. It's also feasible that we would offer him to Blackpool as they were interested in him after his loan spell there.

Also heard we were after the technically gifted serge pizzorno?

I might have been  Although if I put it on the football rumours website it would probably fool a few!

Brilliant goal though

And Paul Jones has gone to Crawley. Peterborough going down the Portsmouth route of having no goalkeepers.

Wouldn't be a bad spot for Bart to land.

Would be good but methinks he will be off back to Poland/Germany. Didn't he nearly go to Portugal? I'm sure there will be a good club angling for him somewhere.

I'm sure there will be, but tending goal for Peterborough would allow him to make up for lost time...he might see as many shots in a season as most keepers do in three.

I just had a thought... I may be being stupid here but, when was the last time we actually signed a player from a division or two below us? We've all been banging on about who we can now snap up from the Championship (i.e. Ince, Rodriguez etc) but I remember thinking the same about swooping on League One's "hidden gems" last year.

I see what you mean, but there's a bit of a difference between players in league one and those knocking on the door of the premier league.

Also when we were promoted to the championship we were looking at players who could do a job in the PL, now we are still looking at players who could do a job in the PL, so in that sense, our targets might not be so different.

I see Rhodes is linked with Fulham for £5m. Thta's a lot of money for some-one unproven at even Championship level.

It is, though it's probably a worthwhile gamble nonetheless. Stylistically, he's probably a better fit in many regards than an imported striker who perhaps has higher-level experience, and for a mid-tier team like Fulham he makes sense...if he fails, it's a significant failure but probably not fatal, if he succeeds they have a young center forward whose skill-set and physical attributes make him a good fit for the PL.
