Now anyone who remembers 606, i was opposed to the lad playing week in and out which made me seem like a WUM to people. And now everyone seems to hate the lad. Can he not just be given a break by the fans, he cant really do anything right because he is getting the McCartney treatment in which he is watched for mistakes like a hawk then blasted down which i think is shameful. Thats not supporting your team, and these anti-Henderson feelings seemed to be ignited when he was linked with United for 20million. Now everyone wants him sold without giving him a chance. Its not right, Quoting Myrtle, You dont become a bad player over night and i stick with this statement, you would think Muntari was going to be blasted out of the ground by the amount of people who now think hes rubbish even though, before he signed everyone was saying he was too good for us and Sess is been blasted in which he now has no skill and pace (hes showed more attacking intent than Malbranque who would be the replacement for him all season in beating his man and getting too the byline which cant really be denyed and which is what we wanted), Gordon is now terrible since Man Utd were linked and Mig is "the future" even though i havent seen him collect 1 corner, which is why i feel we are starting too conceed corners, no command of the area for Mig yet, andhe will develop that. Its not the way fans should be with the team, We should be supporting the team, we are 12th, good remaining fixtures and should be sticking with one team from now till the end of the season and it should be, Mig, Onouha, Mensah, Turner, Bardo, Hendo, Catt, Muntari, Sess, Gyan, Welbeck whether it is liked or not, we were great when we had a settled team earlier in the season and thats what we missed, you cant effectively chop and change a team every game and keep replacing players like we are Man Utd. Oh and Stankovics goal, Sublime!
doesnt mean he should be ripped too shreads when he plays, then you come on here and see 10 anti-hedo articles. He has been ****, but thats only in a losing team that hes **** it seems. He cant carry the midfield or make that difference but he used to run beyond when we were full of confidence, now it seems hes scared to run with the ball because the pressure is always there and he has no freedom to play. Glad someone other than me rates Muntari because he doesnt seem flavour of the month.
I certainly don't hate Jordan. I maintain he's got a massive future at the club. I do feel he should have the balls to go to Bruce, say 'look gaffer, this is my ****ing club, i know i'm struggling for form, how about a breather, bring me off the bench on the right when the other teams tiring'. He's not a poor player, he is in poor form,a slump and a half.
hes under emormous pressure though now it seems whenever he gets the ball. Elmo would be the replacement for him but Henderson wont get his confidence back if he doesnt play from now till the end of the season on the back of his worst game for us. Bruce now might just see out the season with him in order to boost his development.
Oh by the way I blame Ming for the first two goals he dives early the wrong way for the first one. Then wasn't strong enough to palm away a very soft penalty that he actually got his hand too. I don't rate him on crosses either.
I say put him on the bench, fetch him on 70mins against tired legs. He could come on, make or score a goal, and the confidence boost could be what he needs. Or he plays from the start, is ineffective, and takes another kick in his confidence.
Sorry mate not having this enormous pressure bit! If a Sunderland lad can't gee HIMSELF up for a game against the unwashed theres something wrong somewhere.
I didnt mean it like he couldnt motivate himself, but when he gets the ball he just seems different from earlier on in the season. It is confidence but i think he is also more constrained within himself now meaning he just wants to play the easy pass if you know what i mean.
If i was picking the midfield for Saturday, Jordan wouldn't be in it. I'd play Sulley on the right, allowing him to cut inside and shoot, he'd be against Robinson(?), a truly woeful player. Catts and Zenden/Steed in the middle, and Sess on the right, again encouraging him to cut inside and shoot. This cuts down on quality crossing chances, but we never ****ing score from crosses anyway, so it's a dead rubber. Ball on the deck, decent ball retention in the middle with Bolo or Steed, we need to try something else, why not this?
i would be more inclined to Steed than Zenden from the start if that was the case, he needs a goal though bless the lad. We can cut their defence open along the ground, the likes of Scharner cant defend but i bet the bugger will pop up the other end and have at least 1 header.
I really rate both. I think Henderson has been played week in week out when he shouldn't have been, however I wouldn't drop him now. I'd wait until the end of the season and see how he does during the pre season before judging whether he should be starting or not. I'm dying to see Muntari come good. I think it'll happen.
I'd probably go with Steed as well, he keeps the ball, and thats what we need. We have to win this one, and if we do we can win 3 more before season end and save our season. No matter what though, there's work to be done, if we finished 8th now, we'd have to look at this run and say 'we ****ing bottled it' The season is one of questions now, but we ain't far from a very good side.
First goal and he will take off, same with Sess, shame about hitting the bar at everton. I wont be getting picky who scores aslong as the ball goes over the white line at this moment in time.
I don't care if it crosses the white line. I just want the referee and linesmen to say it crossed the white line.
When we used to give Whitehead stick after the game in the pub and much more vociferously than I do in forums. One of my mates loved him thought he couldn't put a foot wrong pointed out Whiteheads passing stats from previous games. No matter how much we tried to explain most of those passes were hospital balls a couple of yards to somebody already marked flew over his head. Whitehead wasn't a very good footballer , yes he tried but he was still ****. Henderson IS a very good footballer and I'm absolutely ****ing sure he can move faster than that jog he does. It sometimes looks as though he actually doesn't want to reach the ball or make a tackle.
We'll win on Saturday lads, i'm ****ing sure of it. Hopfully it'll be like Bolton at the end of last seasons mare, goal in the first minute and a nice thrashing lashed out.
Villa and co will not have as bad of a season as this one if they stay up so we got to make sure we leave ourselves in the best position, come the first game of next season. Continuous home games of Fulham and Wigan should be good enough really for us to get up the table.
