It's actually closer to £100m net, Drogs and Chelsea's wage bill is roughly £100m a season higher than Spurs'. Some records are played a lot for a reason.
Crikey, last relegated about 24 years ago, Roman joined 9 years ago, how on earth do you make the conclusion that we go up and down between the two divisions without Roman?
Wages though And probably net spend. And you've omitted your high spending years of 2003-2006 where youw here initally building your side. Its like Man City talking about how much their current XI only cost X amount more than Man Utd when they actually spent hugely on the likes of Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Bridge, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, Robinho, Wright-Phillips etc
Not denying the wages but in terms of large transfer fees you lot pay over the odds too . I'm only telling you it's over played for your own sake by the way, you're wasting your breath mate.
There's no comparison. Our most expensive signing cost £16.5m, compared to £50m for yours. When you were fighting for your top 4 place 18 months ago you went out and spent more money on two players than we have on our entire first XI. Spurs have clearly wasted money on some signings and large amounts in a couple of cases. Using that to try and make a comparison to Chelsea's vast overspending, both on transfers and wages, is both dishonest and asinine, in my opinion.
C'mon Drogs. I'm sure you don't care that Chelsea have spent totally disproportionately but don't pretend that there are comparisons to be made with clubs like Tottenham.
My stat was pre-torres, it was a ridiculous signing and perhaps the only one I'm embarassed about. We've bought two players who we paid stupid money for and they both flopped, hopefully Roman has learned his lesson. I'm not comparing anything, I simply stated you had spent only £40m less from the years 2006-11.
Drogs Here's a list of players Chelsea have bought over the 17m for Modric who is our most expensive... Lukaku...20 Mata.....24 Ramires..18 Luiz.......26 Torres....50 Zhirkov...18 Anelka, Bosingwa, Malouda, commanded fees around the 15 mark. We paid over the odds for the couple of years Comolli infested our club, how that man got Levy to part with some of those fees I'll never know. That aside, our business has mainly been between the 10-15 mark, apart from some cheap dude called Van der Vaart for a derisory amount. How on earth do you arrive at your sums? I notice you stopped going further back....didn't want to include Shevchenko, Essien and SWP did you!
That's clearly a comparison. It's a carefully selected one with regards to it's timing and one that ignores the true cost of your players, too. Wages are the most important expenditure.
Modric was £16.5m, Notso. Not all that relevant, but it means that you missed a few players. Shaun-Wright Phillips (£21m), Essien (£24.4m), Shevchenko (£30m), Carvalho (£19.8m), Drogba (£24m), Makelele (£16.6m), Crespo (£16.8m) and Duff (£17m), for example.
PNP - Drogs said "from 06" so I haven't missed anyone thank you and you'll find a lot of .5's missing off some of the other values, feel free. I rounded Modrics up to try and help him out! If you read all my post thats what the reference to Shev and SWP is meant to infer....missing out those players....wake up man!
Perhaps not. But he made too many mistakes, Footie. And that simply can never be good enough for a club like 'Pool. As much as I despise that club and its delusional fans, I am not stupid, and I recognise that the Yank owner will have purchased the club for it's world wide brand, which stupid-fool "King" Kenny showed himself incredibly inept at protecting. I guarantee that the Yank owner simply lost all trust in him; and once the trust has been lost in your leadership abilities, there can never be any going back. Kenny simply was not big enough to do the job. I know that the average Mouser will openly condemn me for saying that, but I also know that he will know, in himself, that I am right.
"Former chief executive Rick Parry says qualifying for the Champions League is the minimum requirement for Liverpool's next manager." (Source: BBC footy website) Oh, dear, oh, dear! You and I, and the village idiot's cat know that 'Pool are going to struggle to hold onto 9th spot next season, yet this numpty (yet another delusional Mouser) is setting the bar at an impossible height. It's because of twats like this that I revel in every 'Pool/Mouser failure. If only one of them would come and admit that "we are now a mid-table club; we used to be a big club, but now we are not" I could actually begin to have some sympathy for them. No. Actually, forget that. I can never have any sympathy for them.
Sacked Bayern numpty being considered for 'Pool job:- "Louis van Gaal has emerged as a leading contender to be Liverpool's sporting director. The Dutchman has made his interest in the role known, having been out of work since being dismissed as coach of Bayern Munich in April last year." (Source: The Times)
HIAG too many bloody Pool threads on this board, may I suggest we have one Liverpool thread from you rather than 368. You can then concentrate your good thoughts for them into one concentrated insightful thread. We could have the HIAG Pool thread. the HIAG Gooner thread and the HIAG Chelski thread. I know you want to spread the love but I am sure most of us would prefer to see SPURS dominate this board.
This great idea of MINE has been approved and rubber stamped by the wonderful Yid Vicious. What more could I want.
