Out of interest, why not? Not saying we should, just wonder why youre so against him?

just dont think we would be even in for him if it wasnt for the link with city which is not a good enough reason to be appointed manager , if we want to take a gamble on a manager that has had reasonable success in the lower leagues surely lee clark would be a better option and wouldnt cost a fee

Out of interest, according to skybet (who seem the only ones to have had a book always open since barmby left) lee Clark is now the clear favourite at 11/8, Davies, jose and bruce your next best at 6's

Just impossible to predict even who is being considered. I presume the Allams themselves will be interviewing, would love to be a fly on the wall and hear what they ask and what they are offering. I wonder what the candidates will have to do to impress them.

Bring their own sand pit and build sand pyramids?

yep i think he'l get it.

come on strov his sacking was very harsh.

He had the biggest budget in the league, the top scorer in the league and didn't lose for a long time, yet he couldn't keep them in the promotion places and he played ****e football, most of the Udders fans weren't at all sorry to see him gone.

I want to know who the "surprising" and "interesting" candidates are that Mike White reckoned were on the shortlist.

For me the most important thing is keeping the squad together. Anyone who achieves that and builds in the obvious couple of positions should do well.

I hope, whoever it is, persists with the 4231 formation as Norwich and Swansea have proved that works for new clubs on a budget in the Premiership.

Must admit I'm finding the transition tiresome now. Can't remember a time when there has been such a delay over a management appointment. Parky took a while to sort out legally, but everyone knew who it was going to be.

I'm sure I posted on here they had sponsored it. I wonder if any candidates were guest of the family?

They are bringing the Open to Hull in the next couple of years.

Seems he's always had an interest in squash...

Dr Assem Allam:

“Squash has always been part of my family, I used to play squash, my brother used to play squash for many years, he played in the British Open for years, my children play squash, and for me, squash is not a commercial affair, it’s part of my family.

“The squash is completely different now than what it was when I was young. Different court, different racquet, different ball, different technique.

“It’s such an amazing sport. Yesterday, we were watching the match between James and Ramy, and I think that it was the best match ever played, and Jahangir Khan, the Legend, said so too, so it must be true! I’m looking forward to see the next match.

“Allam will organise the British Open for the next two years. Next year, we should be having it in Hull, in Yorkshire. It’s an area in the country where the top two players are from, Nick and James, it’s a region where there are many squash lovers, Sheffield, Pontefract, Leeds, Hull… It’s all about taking squash to the people of the North, who sometimes cannot afford to come to London to see some great squash.”

One name Burnsy did say this morning, probably tongue in cheek, but seeing Birmingham have a transfer embargo we might tempt their manager.

one place out of the automatics? with plenty of season to play?

its a results business.

we wont attract big name managers.

Don't know who you define as a "Big Name" manager. We should have no trouble persuading Bruce, McCarthy and Davies to sit down and talk as should any side who had just finished 8th in the Championship. We are a promotion squad in the making, I would have thought that would have been very attractive to most.

He could answer the one on Premiership broadcasting money.

Just saying like

I already have done. If Richard Scudamore does not know then who does ? Every media outlet has the figure as something different. RS comments were made at the start of last season after the new PL overseas rights were sold.

No promotion for Clark? well if they gave him a chance he might have delivered this season, to sack him when they were sitting 4th in a league containing the 2 Sheffield clubs was ****ing ridiculous as everyone agreed at the time.

Looks like Chris Hughton is going to get an approach from WBA.

Apart from Nick Barmby, its hard to see who the Allams can apoint to keep the squad happy and together, sadly.

Bollocks. NB will not be coming back. Have any of our players handed in a transfer request?

Even if you had any basis on saying this, players at every club are disappointed when a manager leaves, but they try their hardest for their new boss. To suggest that only NB can keep our squad together and happy is nonsense. When our new manager is appointed the players will still do their best otherwise they won't play.

If NB never manages another club again for the rest of his days what are the players going to do? Will they retire because only NB can make them happy?
