oxley has not been given a chance===not even a sniff yet he was the best at u 20 level thats why we got him
One of our first team coaches described him to me as a 21 year old man, with the back of a 90 year old woman.
Cracknell and Peet i think are the only 2 keepers we shall have come 1st July. Vito is back with Arsenal, so have we missed out on him ? I would expect the new manager to be told of Vito at some point. But there are loads of good keepers available this summer.
Well off the cuff thats available : - Vito Mannone - Paul Robinson - Thomasz Kuszczak - Joe Lewis - Brad Guzan - Bo Myhill - Jussi Jaaskelainen for starters. Forget the 2 from Slumberland.(Gay Gordon and Frank Carson) Not in my lifetime thanks. IMO, i would have Vito and Bo back to Hull City. Both would push each other.
Craig Gordon, Marcus Hahnemann and Trevor Carson have all been released and even Jussi Jaaskelainen is out of contract this summer.
Mannone, Robinson and Myhill are not out of contract, they'd all cost money and Lewis has already gone to Cardiff.
Not heard about Joe Lewis signing for Cardiff but the others are available. I never said they were Free by the way simply available.
On BBC website Gold is saying he's confident Green will sign a new contract now that they're in the EPL.
And why oh why would we spend money on keepers when there are so many decent ones available on a free? Especially if we have a limited budget of which we need to spend on wingers/strikers.
Sorry, with Trevor Carson not actually playing a game for us, why does that mean he wouldn't be very good for us? He was good enough to come to the club on loan, granted as cover, so surely they must have thought that if an injury to Manonne cropped up, then he would be of a good enough standard to deputise? I'm pretty sure Jakupovic has already signed, I remember hearing from somebody that he was just waiting for international clearance, but things might have changed with Barmby leaving. As for others, Shwan Jalal is pretty good, he's out of contract at Bournemouth as far as I'm aware so wouldn't cost anything. My number 1 target would be Dusan Pernis, who is being released from Dundee United (couldn't afford to keep him, as they've just brought in some Polish bloke.). He's a solid shot stopper and he doesn't flap, could easily do a job in the Championship, which is where I think he will go.
Doesn't he have Swiss dual nationality? If so he doesn't require a visa to enter the country on his Swiss passport.
International clearance isn't about passports. When a player moves from a club governed by one FA to a club governed by another they have to get written confirmation that the player doesn't have any suspensions (eg if Joey Barton moves to Spain his 12 game ban goes with him but the FA have to tell the Spanish FA the situation) and to ensure there are no contract disputes with the player and stuff like that. As stupid as it sounds, if we sign a player from Cardiff who are in the same division as us we have to wait for it to be given as they're under the FAW.
