A thread where we can discuss the Euro Championship and the build up without clogging up the forum too much!

Personally, I think Spain will win (It's not hard to guess) but I suppose we could have a surprise or 2

Starts 8 June - I'm looking forward to it, even if I'm not expecting much from England

As of the 8th June, I shall be in Mauritius until the 1st of July. I will not be spending any time worrying about the Euro's.

Thanks for your contribution <laugh>

Germany for me. Think Spain have been worked out a bit (defeat to England would suggest as much!) but they'll still be hard to beat.

I still fancy France. Apart from them I think we've been a bit lucky with the Group draw. They are our opening fixture, standby to lose.

This is the first tournament in ages where there is no stupid hype over England and I think we should be taking this opportunity to start afresh. Get rid of the old guard and blood the future England stars. Start now with the outline of the England team for the next 10 years.

My opinion however, also, I will watch the final.

I'm going to have a wager on the Italians, I don't think zie Germans will make it out of the group and will be the shock of the group stage. The Portuguese to win the group and Netherlands taking the second spot. Out of Group one, Poland and Russia will make it out. Group 3 Italy and spain to make it out. Group 4, Ukraine and France to make it through.

Final to be compiled of Italy and Portugal. Italy will win 1-0.

Im Dutch so cheering on the mighty oranje! Also England of course but I would say holland have a slightly better chance than England <laugh>!

The fact that there is less expectation on this England squad perhaps as the public have finally woken up that the quarter-finals would be an achievement won't help them unfortunately. I'm not that confident that England will get out of the group stages...

Ukraine to qualify from the group? They are hopeless...We will at least finish 2nd.

I think it could be a Germany v Italy final with Italy winning it!

England could win it if they have a plan like Greece had in 04,but I don't think they've got the same plan or team spirit that Greece had.
We should make the QF with ease just like we did in 04.Draw against France, thrash Ukraine and draw against Sweden I can't see Ukraine winning a game to be honest.

If Gomez can finally get on form in a major tournament, it'll be hard to look past the Germans, as the Spanish just seem to have faltered a little since their World Cup triumph.

England will probably scrape through the group on the final game...on goal difference.

And of course, the Republic of Ireland will happily go about their business by reaching the semis before France put them out somewhat ironically <ok>

Would like to see someone different for a change! Ireland or England!!! Being serious, how about Russia! One of these Eastern Europeans do well Are the Czech's in the tournament? They have a useful record in the Euros! However, I feel there might be two good matches throughout the tournament as most teams will play "cat and mouse" with each other so I expect the rest to be rubbish!!
