    Apart from the ones mentioned, I would add the posh ends of Ryhope and Herrington which boast some fantastic up-market housing..The Moorside area could also be an option..

    an old work mate of mine lived in a big old house facing the cathederal he has since moved a couple of years ago but what a view <bubbly>

    Personally i'd rip all the rest of the rooms apart..all look old fashioned, easily cured.

    You can get a house for £400 a month in the Midi Pyrenees near the Spanish border. If you want one you need to get in now before it is colonised by the Brits and the price goes up
