I thought when I see this earlier it was a sad joke by someone, why does he want to leave the club, I thought he loved it at Norwich/

@holtamania (who is usually a very reliable tweeter) has just tweeted saying that he has it on good authority it is to do with wanting to be back up North.

It seems too sudden though, he only just bought a house in Norwich. I'm sure he said the other day that he hopes Lambert is still at Norwich when he returns from holiday.

My thoughts are that although Holt has been immense for us and I would love him to stay, this shows us that the only loyal people these days are the fans. If he or Lambert or whoever goes, the club will go on and we will also.

There are no facts, just rumours and we can all get carried away with these. If I had to speculate about anything I would go with another striker coming in who Holt sees as starting ahead of him. We have to remember Holt has not always been a starter every game. Let's say Rhodes , Roriguez or Abdoulle (?) are coming in and it looks you are not guaranteed a starting pace despite being top scorer, you may well feel a move is necessary that may be a big pay day as you come to the latter part of your career. In some way I can understand this.

If Holty is not here next season, then he gets my best wishes and luck for the future. He has been immense for us.

Lets see what happens.

I was going to respond to Mike... then I came to my senses.

I stll think it's odd that having had definite info about a request going in, there's nothing solid linking another club.

Out of interest does anyone know if transfer requests are handed in by the player in person or done via an agent?

This is entirely the media's fault. We need to get some perspective.

Let's say that what should have happened is the club release a press statement stating that Holt has handed in a transfer request, he wants to move closer to his family in the North, and whilst he's enjoyed his time at Norwich, he feels he would rather leave at the top of his game.

The bloke is an honest, working class lad. He's not in the business of stabbing anyone in the back, ESPECIALLY not the club and fans who have made him a Premiership footballer.

We all need to calm down, he'll be (or would be) missed greatly. The media have got hold of this and all of a sudden people are saying he's a judas. For heaven sake.

People proper can't hold their loads can they, we just need to see what the situation is before we comment further.

Not disown him for everything he's done

Completely agree. You can't judge him without knowing all the facts. We will just have to wait for an official club statement.
