Grant Holt puts in transfer request...

I used to hate Holt but now i'm not so sure

 

there won't be any shortage of takers for holt so a bidding war could be on the cards - should help us sign rodriguez i suppose! anyway, as it stands, the transfer request has been rejected so its rather premature saying he is definitely off - we just have no idea. its certainly not helpful though!!

exactly. we don't know what is happening just yet. he could still be our captain come the start of next season so lets all hold judgement until the club at least make an official statement! my instinct says he will still be here

I am shocked to say the least.

It's strange that he was planning to be on McVeigh radio show tonight and only pulled out today. That would suggest he woke up this morning with no intention of handing in a transfer request. Very strange indeed.

 

We've got to expect these things now we're in the big leagues I suppose

players and moneys and the lower league guys all over our board

 

I can't remember, but did Holt sign a new contract on promotion from league 1 to the Championship?
If he did then he's effectively had a new contract each season, having massively exceeded expectations. It really could be just new contract pressure being applied, given he's now a very successful Premier league striker.

totally disagree with the first part of your comment re: lambert going but the second part is correct - that to me suggests agents playing hardball.

if anybody deserves more money then its holty to be fair, but this would suggest the club cannot afford what his agent wants

 

The rooney point is a good one he even had a press conference as soon as he got the £250k a week he 'deserved' he loved man united again. I'd personally pay holt more e.g. we've paid vaughan all that money for nothing why not bump up holts wage a bit?
