We have a very repressive tax regime in this country with too much avoidance. What is the point in having high tax rates for the rich when they can just avoid paying tax with so many loop holes?

I really don’t get why high earners should have to pay more tax. Why punish them. More common than not a higher earning job comes with more responsibility, more stress, more hours etc. why should people who have worked hard to move up their career ladder get punished for it?

Because if they don't pay more it means the poorer people have to, people who are already skint earning a pittance of a wage. And as for more hours that is bollocks, I've worked 70-80 hours a week,no breaks, pissing in a plastic bottle and eating while driving and still earned less than 20k a year while these ****s sit in their nice air conditioned offices.
Thats why i said more common than not. i'm not saying everyone.......i do understand that there are people who work there ass off for very little. But you are also judging that everyone that gets a high wage sits in an air conditioned office. There should be a flat rate tax at a certain %. It means that the higher earners would still pay more than the lower earners but they all pay the same rate. **** it, i'll **** off back to Baku for a couple of years and pay no tax again.

That's how it works now and what I've been saying since earlier, Sam Axe is severely ******ed![]()
It's not how it works. there are different tax bands. I pay a larger % then say someone on £20k
