Pretty much this <ok> blown out of proportion mainly by the PC brigade and those who love to pounce and criticise a.k.a the media, people then take what they say as gospel

Flyer - what is the difference between a 2 minute minor and a 2 minute major?

There is no 2 min major, only a 5 min one.

The rules arent black and white so you can have a 2 min penalty for something like Bartons elbow (which wouldnt be called most of the time) and a 5 min one would be if it really hurt someone, ie losing teeth, broken bones or a concussion. Also if you score on a 2 min pen, the player comes back out but you can score as many as you want on a 5 min pen.

Whilst I am disgusted with Bartons actions, Tevez has got off very lightly. Well he has infact got away with it.

He started the whole episode and should face a ban for his actions.

But Barton was wrong to react like he did, not only in elbowing Tevez, as he is our Captain (not for long I guess), but also for the other two incidents.

I agree he has to accept the Aguero incident, but without wanting to defend him, the first time I saw the "headbutt" it looked like his head was pushed accidentally by another city player. Not sure on that one?

Bah, it would have been 2 minutes for elbowing Tevez, 5 minutes for instigating a fight with Aguero and an additional 2 minutes for delay of game for not going to the penalty box promptly.

Mr. Damage (I have no intention of using your quote again - post No.8) - but - Barton is the common denominator - too often. He has brought disgrace on your club - in a season where the club have been given a lot of respect for their footballing achievement. Barton has made it easy for the QPR legal team to sack him - and without paying up the contract ( surely there's a gross misconduct clause in it ,) after the due process that the FA have to follow.

You wouldnt get arresting for what he did off the pitch, never mind on it.

I'm a Foolham fan (trying to make myself at home on the QPHa board!), so have a slightly biased and slightly neutral view. To those defending Barton, how would you feel if you had ended up being relegated following his actions?

I don't care if Barton is getting picked on because of his past or not. The man is a tool and a very ordinary player who causes disruption wherever he goes. I just want him gone!!

I don't think it's blown out of proportion.

It was a massive game and imperative for your survival, his moment of thuggery could have cost in excess of £40m. Players have to take pay cuts, fans suffer, ambitions of the club set back further. It wasn't just the fact he kicked out, it was the fact he went on a one man crusade to attack virtually the entire City team.

I'm often the first to defend players, up until Dabo-gate I frequently defended Barton but comparing him to others won't help.

I'm 100% in agreement with both of these posts. We need to lose a player that brings the reputation of the Club into question. Both on and off the field, Barton does. Get rid.

Again not condoning Barton's actions but surely the FA must deal with Tevez. Its not the first time officials have let him down. The red card against Norwich was a direct result of the Ref failing to protect Joey when the Norwich players had hacked him down a number of times, once off the ball. For me the ref lost control of that game and it was only a matter of time.
But the problem with joey is everything that happened after the red card. You only have to contrast the way Derry handled himself after the card against man ure to see how a captain should conduct himself.

Barton has nothing to worry about and either way he wins on this ... His profile was shown worldwide ... Take a second to think exactly what that means in the biggest game on the planet. Someone has to be the bad man in every situation known to man
    There is no bad publicity.
He has provoked reaction and he will milk it ... He is that sort of human
Fans/viewers around the world I bet can't name our second goal scorer but they will remember the dark one Barton... He is already a hero
I only care about the football my team plays and it's a lot better without Barton in he side IMO it grows and flows without him
