Martinez would, if nothing else, have us playing attractive football, and with a bigger transfer budget, who's to say he can't be a success? Remember that Hodgson never had the chance to spend money under the new owners

Probably harsh, but I'm mightily pissed off with FSG and this sacking incident. If you're going to sack a manager at least have a replacement lined up, what kind of moronic organisation sacks a manager without having another one lined up to replace him.

I think it was the right decision for Liverpool to move forward. It means John Henry do not mess around.
No one is bigger Liverpool Football club.We are now behind Tottenham , Newcaste and Everton.

The club you were is not the club you will become.

Your owners are challenging you to look to the future instead of the past. Might be a good idea to take them up on it.

This decision will be judged as a success/failure depending on Kenny's successor. If we bring in Martinez I'm not too sure of what to expect, but I'd much rather prefer we bring in someone like Benitez because despite his previous 'failures' (As some may say) I believe the foreign flair we are in need of will only be brought in with the right man.

Jose is a hugely unlikely candidate, Bruce is ridiculous to even suggest and AVB is too young, requires more experience. No, I'm not saying his crap, but league position is clearly very important to the owners and I don't think AVB can deliver the security we need.

At this point its anybody's guess

K D was a great winner, sweetness and light.

K D was a terrible loser, became dark and threatening with no spine to front up.

    A very small man.

Disappointed, majorly. But the change had to be made. He did us well and served the club massively through the darker days and did after all win us the 1st trophy in 6 seasons. However, the media were having a field day with him and his results in the league were simply not good enough.

But Dalglish insisted he is going nowhere and said: "I expect the owners to have more dignity and integrity than to
believe a story in a newspaper."

Dalglish said his departure had been handled in a "honourable, respectful and dignified way".

So come on Kenny which one is it.............................................

They may not mess around, but they have set a precedent, they sacked Hodgson after 6 months, Kenny after 18 months. What is going to be acceptable next season? What happens if the new manager doesn't reach those requirements?

<laugh> isn't Mick McCarthy looking for a job? Can't do anyone worse than Dalglish league wise.

Liverpool need someone to keep them out the bottom half of the table next season.

Someone with fighting spirit. Otherwise they could go the way of Leeds.

Sam Allardyce knows the ropes and would steady the ship..

Quite suprised, really thought he'd get another season to try and prove his signings would come good.

It's a shame Steve Clarke has gone as well, defence really shored up when he was appointed and is surely no coincidence. I think the major task will be for the new manager to earn the respect of players like Gerrard & Carragher who would have seen Kenny as hero of theres.

Not too sure on Martinez. The last 10 games his Wigan team have played brilliantly, however lets not forget the 2 seasons before that they were dire and have only avoided relegation in the final few weeks in each season. Can't see Benitez coming back or Guardiola coming here. Heard about Jurgen Klopp who has done wonders with Dortmund in Germany, young and has done well bringing through youth to win the title for the last few years. Don't know an awful lot about him but seems to have a decent record.
