The stand out line was that he would not swap the Carling Cup for anything because he knows how much it meant to the fans.
You guys are funny saying you want Klopp. pretty sure he wouldnt leave one of the best sides in europe for a club with an awful first team and who arent going anywhere fast. Your level is someone like martinez...who would do a good job for you. Dont be so arrogant and deluded to discount him. I think with this you will get 5th next year.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to have had the chance to come back to Liverpool Football Club as Manager," said Dalglish. "I greatly appreciate the work that Steve, Kevin, the players and all of the staff put in during my time and feel proud that we delivered the Club's first trophy in six years winning the Carling Cup and came close to a second trophy in the FA Cup Final. Of course I am disappointed with results in the league, but I would not have swapped the Carling Cup win for anything as I know how much it meant to our fans and the Club to be back winning trophies. "Whilst I am obviously disappointed to be leaving the football club, I can say that the matter has been handled by the owners and all concerned in an honourable, respectful and dignified way and reflects on the quality of the people involved and their continued desire to move the football club forward in the same way as when they arrived here. "I would like to thank all of the staff at the Club for their effort and loyalty. I said when first approached about coming back as Manager that I would always be of help if I can at any time and that offer remains the same. "Finally, I want to put on record my heartfelt gratitude to Liverpool's fans, who have always given me and the Club their unwavering support. Without them neither the Club nor I would have achieved anything."
I wasn't too fussed either way whether Kenny would be sacked or not (as I was in two minds myself) but I hope that the new manager will be given funds to (for want of a better word) resurrect the team, and the freedom to do it his own way.
Well no point crying over spilt milk, especially with no facts.. I would have loved to have known the truth about: 1. The great British experiment 2. No transfers in January We know that it was soft lad Comolli who was free and easy with the cash last summer, so we can't blame Kenny for the stupid money paid for average players. I know Kenny said he had final word on all players, but while I can accept that, I have nagging doubts.... Bottom line, I hope it is the best for the club, as I hope the people making the decision knew all the facts, because I could be wrong and Kenny might be the reason that the team couldn't be arsed, he could have been out of touch with the modern game, but when you see performances like the one against Chelsea at Anfield, you really had hope. Let's just hope they get it right this time....
It was a privilege to see a man regarded so highly at work because I was too young to appreciate his first spell as manager. And I'm sure other younger fans agree with me. Greatest ever player and one of our greatest ever managers. If we replace him with Roberto Martinez it will be a ****ing disgraceful decision. What the **** has this balding prick ever done in football to make him a candidate for the Liverpool job? FSG can **** off if they appoint this moron, it will be worse than the decision to sack Rafa Benitez and appoint Roy Hodgson.
A bit OTT calling Martinez a prick. What has he ever done to deserve that? It's not his fault that your owners reportedly want him. In fact, Martinez is one of the nice guys in the football and I was pissed when Wenger ****ed off without shaking the guys hand after Wigan's win at the Emirates.
my thoughts exactly with lovely use of the word **** roberto ****ing martinez is that what its come to if we didnt have one of the worlds best managers sat on our doorstep begging to come back i would understand but seriously, its a shambles, especially if ayre has gone as well
