Oh dear. Nige is at 66/1 with Betvictor. If i we're neutral id say those we're good odds but im not so **** off bet victor.
William Hill don't have anything listed for Nigel, but do have David Moyes, Jamie Carragher and even Gus Poyet....
As soon as I saw last Sunday's result and the fact that Liverpool had finished 8th it was a matter of when and not if Dalglish would be sacked. I actually think that they have had a good season insofar they have wone one domestic trophy and came runners-up in a second. (Although their performance in the FA Cup final was lementable for the first 60 mins, they were unlucky for Carroll to miss the sitter of a header. The problem for this club is that their fans are living in the past. As much as I dislike Ferguson, what he has achieved at Man Utd dwarfs the achievements of Shankly, Paisley abd Dalglish to such an extent that football has moved up several notches wince Liverpool dominated much of the 70's and 80's. The bar has been set too high for Liverpool and they will never reach these height again.
As for Dalglish, I think he spent too much on players who have not really produced the results that you might expect with the level of investment and the reaction of Carroll in one of the last matches of the season perhaps suggested that the older man did not understand how to get the best out of his star player. Martinez will make a good fit but whoever is appointed will not be able to match the likes of Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs. Liverpool just do not function at these kind of levles any more.

Jorge Jesus is 33-1 with betvictor, but Nigel God is 66-1. It just doesn't make sense.
Nigel is too inexperienced in the top flight to be on the owners radar. Thank god for Norwich, Swansea & wigan(finish) this season.

If they want to go for an up-and-coming manager then surely Paul Lambert and Brendan Rodgers are way ahead of Nigel.
I honestly don't think that Nigel would want the job at this moment in time. If we are to believe all the hype about just how ambitious the club are then I'm sure he'd prefer to stay here and see what he can achieve.
Also, we are a better run club with no debt and there really isn't the pressure on him to succeed as there would be at Liverpool. In our eyes he is already a success.

I don't think it was a completely unwarranted sacking. His embarrassing handling of the Suarez affair and awful, expensive signings would have also been key factors

Very true. My opinion of Liverpool was pretty neutral but after the Suarez debacle they're one of my least favourite clubs, mainly due to the disgusting behaviour of many of their fans, but also Dalglish's atrocious media handling, and I'm sure that set a bad example for the fans.
It was like he couldn't give an interview without saying something outrageous or losing his temper with the interviewer. Just bizarre behaviour and showed how out of touch he is. Was never going to last long after that.
I think AVB should get the job. Needs to prove his point in the premier league and I thought he wasn't given enough backing/support last time at Chelsea. I'm all for a 2nd chance.

Seems like a management dream team, eh..? I'd love to see them try. At least it would get the condescending Hansen off the TV.
Think even AVB is too risky for them. They're in trouble now - any more seasons like this one and the last, and lack of CL football, they're going to find it increasingly difficult to get back into top four. They need to go for someone with a nailed on record of success - Hiddink, Ancelotti, Mourinho, or get Benitez back.
But can anyone see Liverpool realistically finishing in the top four next year? Chelsea, Man U and C will all strengthen leaving Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle to compete with and even possibly Everton for one place. One has to expect Arsenal or Spurs to get to fourth instead of Liverpool and should one of the first three falter then the two London clubs must be favourites for a top four finish.
