England squad:

Goalkeepers - Joe Hart, Robert Green, John Ruddy.

Defenders - Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Joleon Lescott, John Terry.

Midfielders - Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Ashley Young.

Strikers - Andy Carroll, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck.

Standby - Jack Butland, Phil Jagielka, Jordan Henderson, Adam Johnson, Daniel Sturridge.

Doesn't scream glory, does it....

Robert Green, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Frank Lampard, Andy Carroll should not be there

in there place:

Frank Fielding/Jack Butland, Micah Richards, Jagielka/Bramble, Jack Rodwell, Adam Johnson, Tom Cleverly, Grant Holt/Crouch

I think Carroll has been superb of late, and should go.

Agree with Gree, absolutlely agree with Micah Richards, and I would have taken Holt for sure.

I had high hopes of Kyle Walker, ****ing typical what happened!

Ruddy's call up is richly deserved, he's a cracking keeper.

Is that hodgsons fault or Englands fault though.

Ashley Cole would get in most teams.

I quite like that squad, as its probably the best we have, I would not have taken Barry or Defoe though, but as for the rest, I just cant see much better, who have been consistent over the season tbh.

Not blaming Roy mate, not at all.

Although Richards, Jagielka and Sturridge are surprises to me.

The midfield is piss weak.

What the hell has Gerrard done to deserve a ticket like? No Joe Cole who has been excellent for Lille this year. I fear what is going to be done to us will be very embarrassing.

The funny thing is that most of those players would command transfer fees of £15 million at least! And like above said only Hart & Rooney are truely world class players.

Striker wise I think hes got it almost right but G Johnson over M Richards is a mistake, Richards is better at defending and can also cover CB.

Downing is the biggest surprise although he has played mor egames than Johnson but still Johnson has scored more playing less games!

Henderson as back up says it all really, funny hows there is a very strong Liverpool contingent ey Roy hmmmmm also Liverpool have been absolute garbage this year so how we are made up of mainly scousers is beyond me.

Cue the usualy dissappointing knock out after the group stages and Hodgson will be sacked in July ready to go back to West Brom in time for the start of the season.

I dont know what it is with England, I always get my hopes up and this time is no different, I now deep down we will probably fail, but I still think we can win the thing and get excited.

So on that note I think we will do quite well, Semi Finals even with that squad (which like i said I dont think is all that bad).

We all knew, but looking at that in a list really brings home how poor we've become.

Below is the France squad, I honestly think all but THREE of that squad would waltz into ours, this is FRANCE, not favourites Spain, or 2nd favourites Germany.

We MUST do something about this lack of talent coming through, bar Wiltshire, there is nothing.

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Olympique Lyon), Steve Mandanda (Olympique Marseille), Cedric Carrasso (Girondins Bordeaux).

Defenders: Gael Clichy (Manchester City), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Philippe Mexes (AC Milan), Adil Rami (Valencia), Mathieu Debuchy (Lille), Anthony Reveillere (Olympique Lyon), Mapou Yanga Mbiwa (Montpellier).

Midfielders: Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle United), Florent Malouda (Chelsea), Samir Nasri (Manchester City), Alou Diarra (Olympique Marseille), Yann Mvila (Stade Rennes), Yoann Gourcuff (Olympique Lyon), Marvin Martin (Sochaux), Blaise Matuidi (Paris St Germain).

Forwards: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle United), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Olivier Giroud (Montpellier), Jeremy Menez (Paris St Germain), Loic Remy (Olympique Marseille), Mathieu Valbuena (Olympique Marseille).

Is this the new squad or the last one?

I can't see much has changed and this would have been the same squad Capello would have picked.

Had it been Capello picking this squad I bet everyone would have been writing about the same old failures being picked again.

Good luck Roy, you're going to need it!

That is scary that like. Having said that can do the same with a lot of Belgians and they aren't even there. But we are declining I don't think there are many out there who would disagree.
