Worst XI Post Premiership Era

Cup Games are a good way to blood youngsters, loan spells and now with the extra bench room, we can accomodate them at various points in the League, to bring on when winning comfortably (As happend to McNish, Chamberlain, Martin & Gobern in recent memory)

Also I'm surprised st brendy hasn't been in here yet. If he wasn't so afraid to type the name I'm sure his team would be 11 Ryan Smiths.

 

Lucien Mettomo, signed in 2007/8 from a Swiss team and made 1 sub appearance.

 

Huh, played for Man City a few years back if I remember correctly? No idea we ever had him..!

 

Didn't he just make one unused sub appearence and was never see again

 

Cameroonian, thought he was on loan but don't really remember him playing.

The game he was involved in He's up there with Pulis for me (In fact, Pulis made the bench for often than Mettomo!)

 

We have had quite a few players over the years who never really got a chance to show us what they could do. One of my favourites was Mario Licka.

 

I really rated him, and so did Pearson but Burley signed him yet barely used him - another strange signing by Burley

 

AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH! Folly is at Aberdeen - he broke his ankle about 15 months ago, and hasn`t been seen since. He`s like a virtual midfield player - come to think of it, he was virtual player even when he was on the pitch.

 

Didnt we make a double signing back in 08 of Smith and Molyneux is that the worst double signing in the history of signings? Man we had some dross that season Peckhart, Jordon Robertson, Gasmi, Jake thomson. Kayne mclagon came in at 16 and looked good compared to rest of them hes now at tonbridge angels on loan!! What a difference a few years make.

 

McLaggon had a serious injury that set him back, and he ain't been the same player

Didnt know that shame for him. I did think he looked alright (most would compared to what else we had) just thought strange how quickly a career can dive. Tbh probably did him no good being played so young, is he still our youngest apperance?

Yeah, McLaggon tore his achilles just as he broke into the side, kept him out for a year and was released by Pardew - He looked a damn good prospect but the injury ruined him

Isn't Walcott our youngest appearence though?

 

Yh think so, was only like 19 for us at the time thats the type of player we had to rely on. Really young inexperienced players some had potential (peckhart lallana mckgolrick surman etc.) Alot didnt!

Edit: Im saying this retrospectively to be fair I dont remember Peckhart showing any great signs back then!
