What would you guys think of a new stadium out of the city. With all the housing and the riverside development, the land at Carrow Road must be worth a bomb. Just a thought.

If the new stadium was just outside my village I wouldn't mind. Plenty of farmland to build it on and it's all flat! <laugh>

But seriously, we can expand where we are and it's a great stadium as it is. Especially when you compare it to most Championship grounds and even a few Premier League grounds.

thats right. they are also investigating doing something this summer but it would be tens of seats rather than thousands unfortunately. the big issue is the city stand - they'd need to knock it down and capacity be reduced all season to get what they want but can also extend the jarrold to three tiers - though the ground would look a bit mental! didn't stop newcastle of course...

I thought i read somewhere that when the city stand was built the footings were put in place to take a second tier & that it would go back over the road behind with a new roof ?

I would like some funds pumped into our European scouting set up <ok>

Also supers, the jarrold can have another 2 tiers? First i thought it was only one extra but then i got told that it couldn't be expanded at all. If we put 2 on there and made the city stand the same as the the 2 ends it would look like OT from 10 years ago.

An ALLEGEDLY debt free Norwich City in sight for the first time in DECADES? So what do you budgies immediately propose to do? Go on another spending spree, the model of football financial responsibility! You’ll be back in the red in absolutely no time. <doh><laugh>

hmm, first i've heard that the jarrold can have two more tiers - that would be insane... and not necessary.

I'm not a fan of new stadiums, they are so bland, I like a hotchpotch of stands built on top of stands which don't match with add ons and infills, much , much more an interesting view. A perfect, easy experience is a dull experience which is why the emirates is such a boring visit, just vacuous monotony all the way round.

Dead against moving from Carrow Road there is something about older grounds which you cannot recreate in newer ones.

Mikey, a word of advice! It is better to remain silent and have people think you're a fool, rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

Our ground is pretty formulaic and dull in appearance with little interest to be honest but it beats an oval of seats any day of the week for me.

I bet if you look at peoples memories of an away experience as a whole it will be riddled with those innocuous visits to games that barely mattered but offered a situation of diversity or comedy either getting there or during the game.

You said it can have 2 extra tiers on it supers!? Three tiers in total?

I was going to say, would be immense if they did though. My understanding was it could have a 2nd tier of 4k and a little more than 4k end tier on the city stand but if they were to rip that down there open to do what they like with it.

Long term, the needed development is a big redevelopment of the City stand, but it's the most expensive and with the highest number of issues. I'm no architect/engineer/builder, but I suppose the best way to do it would be to build the framework of a new stand around the current one, so you can leave the stand open during the season, and then go mental with the development over the summer to remove the old seats, and put in the new ones? I don't think I'm explaining this too well...

i see what you're proposing - not sure if its feasible or not.
