So true!! I get the impression that there are some on here who would start an argument over not getting enough points even though we'd just won the Premier League!! Unbelievable really!!
What we are dealing with here it a very simple outburst and release of emotion across a lot of threads. when the dust has settled we will all reflect on a wonderful ride... to finish without character ... well you aren't alive are you?. QPR is a great club to support if you are lucky enough to have found them and never a dull moment is better than boring in my book. We have all been given a wonderful Monday rejoice, steal away ... this chapter is read.
It was a great night last night wasn't it Swords!!! Had a fantastic party, we stayed up!!!! But sounds like you had a better one!! I certainly can't pretend to represent Norway mate, I'm not even Norwegian! I didn't like what Barton did, not at all. But reading through this thread, it seemed many had forgotten that it was Tevez who started this and should have been given a red. I felt sick looking at the pictures of Barton retaliating as he did, but just as sick watching pictures of Mancini celebrating with Tevez, with his arms around him, after the game! Not just for his attack on Barton but because of him going AWOL for a huge chunk of their season. Teves should have been in locked in the red toilet with Barton, and should not have been allowed to celebrate anything out on the pitch afterwards!
So the morning after the night before I've just scanned through the above and... Firstly, for me, Barton is a thug, and not even a thug who's impressed with any sort of special ability. He's been average at best all year, and all the while conducts himself as if he's God's gift to QPR. He's not...he has been a pain in the arse since he joined. In terms of his ability on the pitch, apparently he's very gifted, but we'll have to take other teams word on that, because for us he has been utterly underwhelming. So from a playing point of view...we could live without him. That view is reinforced when you consider that next year we'll have the chance to bring in some new faces over the summer, and our biggest summer 'signing' will be the return of Faurlin next year. Faurlin and Diakite in the middle of the park performing at their best would leave Barton tweeting from the bench anyway. Secondly, what a sad thread this is to see today. I had an amazing afternoon yesterday sitting in a pub in Paris watching with another QPR fan...and keeping track on other scores...my voice was gone by the end and I felt I had aged a good couple of years between kick-off and all the final scores coming in. In the end...just complete jubilation...they announced the Stoke score just after the final whistle...what an amazing feeling. So you'd hope that this morning the main topic of conversation on here and amongst pundits would be the valiant display and effort put in by Rangers at fortress Etihad. Reports should be all about the players and how well they've done to beat the drop...but no...as much as anything else...it's all about Barton. About his red card, his tantrum and his childish violent behaviour. How does that make Derry, Mackie, Hill, Ferdinand and co. feel when all attention is on an aggressive cheat, and his bad behaviour. We can not only live without him, but I believe we can thrive without him next year and after yesterday, there will be few left fighting his corner. Rant over...but to end, and far more importantly that one man...WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!!!!!!!!! What a day! My Rangers are back and staying where they belong...fantastic.
A few more Joey classics from last night: Shearers still on my case..."I know I f*cked up Alan, thanks for stating the obvious." Whilst were both stating the obvious about each other, can I just say for the record what a great player u were. Well better me... But I have a better hair(which is not hard), wear well better shirts on TV and have a personality(something u lack). I really don't like that prick, in fact I honestly despise him... Goodnight. I'd take it off Hansen and @GaryLineker but not from that bell, same fella that stamped on Neil Lennon, then threatened FA if they banned him ...That he would retire from international football. No sorry, not having him, never have. Selfish, boring man him. He can do one... My favourite memory of him though is when he dropped his spuds when Keano put it on him. Goodnight Al, sleep well matey... === He's just a constant facepalm really isn't he? He has better hair, and wears better shirts than Shearer? One of the best strikers the Premiership has ever seen? Fantastic Joey...take a bow son. Hope he never plays again, but many football fans have been saying that for years. The man is a disgrace, and I genuinely feel very sorry for QPR as he's severely tarnished what should have been a great celebration for the club with his ridiculous antics. I hope he gets 4 games for the Red, 5 for a second red for the kick at Aguero, and 6 for the headbutt afterwards. That'll make 15 games, and is a lot less than he deserves.
I am pleased to see that everyone now knows why we got rid of the idiot. I was at a golf day at Slayley Hall Golf course a few years ago and Barton was there with his clique of players, Nolan, Carroll, Smith etc. We were sitting behind them at a table after the round and Barton, as ringleader, was advocating that they all go on strike before the first game of the season over some contract issue with one of his gang. The guy is a thug, ex con, and an a**ehole. God help you if he stays with you next year.
Got to disagree with this nonsense about Barton. I am sick and tired of every man and their dog having a go at him . HELLO he was firstly kicked by tevez and i do not condone the way Barton reacted, however tevez should have also been sent off. Have people forgotten about what an a***hole this player (tevez) is. The press and all the media have turned a blind eye to this ah such short memories!!!! Ah but its the same old rubbish we have had all year Barton this and that, utter nonsense, he should never have been sent off against Norwich either!!!!! I would have been one of the first people to get on his case, but i have to put my hands up and say that since he was dropped against sunderland , the way he has reacted and rolled up his sleeves has been excellent. As to the afters with the tevez incident , well its all in the heat of the moment he was p***ed off and over reacted but come on when you are passionate it can happen and in this incidence it did!!!!
What worries me is that our little club should be popular among many neutrals. Yes, we have a few pound to spend but we will not be going out buying 10-15 million pound players. I can fully understand why many people would not like us with this twat playing for us. He has and will continue to bring himself and therefore our club into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. He is no captain. He can't lead by example either on or off the pitch. We have to find a way to get rid.
That's no excuse for his actions. Agree Tevez should not have done what he did but Barton should have ignored him and got on with it.
So how many incidents like this have you seen in the PL this year? How many times in the history of the PL have you seen a player get sent off, then go on to commit another 2 offences that could warrant Red Cards and have to be escorted from the field? It's your choice if you want players that are a liability playing for your club. I'd hate to have anyone like Barton at the club I support. In the biggest game of your season, he lost it, and if QPR had been relegated, you could have landed a lot of the blame squarely on his shoulders.
It's not our choice sadly. Barton is one of Uncle Neil's mistakes in the transfer market which will be virtually impossible to correct before his contract is up.
We do not want a player of his arrogance tarnishing the name of our Club. Red cards happen, that's part of the game, but to compound it with two further offences and then to get straight on twitter and come out with such disgraceful comments, leaves the Club surely with no option but to get rid.
Your right about time added on through the thug that calls himself a footballer, i wouldn't think any Man Utd fan would be very pleased with him either, he no doubt cost them the title. So pleased for QPR fans on staying up, but get rid of that moronic moron like Newcastle did, he will cost you in the long run. From a Bristol City fan.
Suspect from a contract/employment point of view, Joey will have to be given at least one warning before dismissal. I anticipate that will be coming shortly once MH has spoken with the owners.
I dont think so. After his sent off city was having their weakest spell on the second half and mackie did score that bullettheader after that too. Citys winning goal came just 3min and 16 sec on the injury time which is quite normal time to play anyway.
I dont think barton is going anywhere. He will serve his long bann and after that he would discover that he is just a squadplayer.
