The lino would have been looking right across the back for offsides and therefore the offence would have been in his line of sight. Considering we survived it matters little to me whether or not the decision was a guess. It's a side issue now. What does concern me is Barton and his entire mindset in all of it. It was an elbow no doubt. I don't think Barton for one micro second cared that he might get seen doing it? I don't think such considerations even entered his head. It was poor impulse control from somebody losing the plot and not giving a flying rat's arse for the consequences. The consequences we might have had have to live with as fans for who knows how long? But he put his ego above all that and got his own back on Tevez. He's worth it right? Calculated guess or not it was a sending off and Barton has proved himself small time in every conceivable way. As much of a hard man he thinks himself to be, he's proved himself very weak by not keeping his head and focusing on the prize, self-indulgently succumbing instead to petty revenge for his own satisfaction. He just wasn't able to handle the pressure of the occasion and it could have cost us dearly. How can we ever trust him in a big game again? I won't and I've been one of his biggest cheerleaders on here. He needs to go.

How? Why? From my pov in the ground tevez made a meal of ioeys elbow after he originally clumped him. I don't really give a shi t whether you think I'm wrong.

End of the day we would of been safe long before now had it not been for dodgy referre decisions. as far as I'm concerned joey just payed out some of the **** thrown our way this year.

I'll worry the day that any of your posts make any sense. Today's not that day.

I cannot believe the idiots on here defending Joey Barton. You are as bad as the Chelsea idiots that support John Terry and all his "madness". Get a grip, Barton is a mindless pathetic moron!

I'll support anyone who helps this club. Barton was provoked, he retaliated and was sent off - Joey just tried to even things up by "taking one of theirs with him" al kaieda would be proud of him.

Squeaky bottom time when bolton went 1-2 up

My point is he didn't try to "help this club". He indulged himself and it could have been costly for this club. How does rising to childish provocation, leaving your team to see out 30 minutes with 10 men away to a side going for the title, help this club? And this "evening things up" nonsense is exactly that. Nonsense. An excuse made up after the fact to excuse the inexcusable.

This! Cerny how the **** can you condone Barton's actions after he was sent off? He's even tweeted that he tried to take one of their players with him by taking out Aguero!! That statement alone should be enough for Fernandes to get rid of him surely?
On the incident.........Tevez delayed his fall till he was in the penalty area....cheating twat!! Barton was his usual thick self and clearly elbowed Tevez after initially being provoked by the little git!!
After that, Barton simply disgraced himself!!

I hope joey never wears our shirt again! Im sick of idiots like him earning fortunes and setting bad examples to young kids! He is not a captain in any way or form! Forget his initial red card and look at how he acted after! How do i explain to my 6 year old son that he is our skipper and this is the team you should follow!

In what way does getting sent off, leaving his team mates in the lurch, aggravating the offence by attacking two other players and doubtless incurring the club a fine for 'failing to control its players' in any way 'pull back the deficit'?
Also notice that your first teamer message that a City official was 'seriously hurt' in the tunnel hasn't made the news. As if a first teamer would send you a text when they are celebrating survival.
Mendacious, deluded and unpopular is no way to go through life son.
