Who is the man who killed Rangers FC?

  • Total voters

Truly shocking. Another 3 people used racist language.

That's 4 of them now.

I'm beginning to think you may be right, FOUR whole fans.

Maybe we should get UEFA onto this right away.

Aye, Dev, just the four. Isn't this combined with your club's (links provided) history of racist behaviour a sign of something endemic there?

To me, four is four too many.

I take it he has no proof to back up his claim of stating Celtic have never had a Protestant on the Board so has, in classic online forum style, simply chosen to ignore the subject.

I shall leave him to his one man quest to paint all Celtic fans as racists and bigots in a futile attempt to deflect attention away from the imminent death of the club he supports.

G'night dafty.

So, the long and short is, that you can't provide one bit of evidence to back up your claim?

Catholics who signed for Rangers before Johnston include, before the end of World War I: Pat Lafferty (1886), Tom Dunbar (1891–1892), J Tutty (1899–1900), Archie Kyle (1904–1908), Willie Kivlichan (1906–1907), Colin Mainds (1906–1907), Tom Murray (1907–1908), William Brown (1912), Joe Donnachie (circa.1914–1918) and John Jackson (1917). Thereafter, Catholic players prior to Mo Johnston's signing include: Laurie Blyth (1951–1952), Don Kitchenbrand (1955–1956), Hugh O'Neill (1976), John Spencer (1985–1992) (Bill Murray, The Old Firm – Sectarianism, Sport and Society in Scotland (John Donald Publishers, 1984) pp 64–5

Now why hasn't there been a Protestant on the board of Celtic?

71 years <laugh><laugh><laugh>

That Rangers never signed Catholics due to sectarian reasons...anytime will do <ok>

71 years <laugh><laugh>

We were talking about the Celtic Board when you accused me of not backing up my claim. You seem a tad confused. Are you alright?

You do seem to find the concept of Rangers only signing four catholics between 1918 and 1989 (a period of 71 years) a bit confusing.

Oh that's right, the reason you only signed four was because for a period of 71 years they were the only ones good enough to play for Rangers. The sort of creme de la creme de la creme de la creme of kafflick footballers. That's right isn't it?
