I am delighted to announce that I have become a dad for the first time this week (Wednesday 19:59 to be exact) but the missus has had a rough time and is still in hospital for a few days yet. This means I will be visiting her and baby between 10:30 and 12:30 before having to leave for quiet time on the maternity ward which lasts a couple of hours - great timing as I can shoot off to a local to watch the match ... So guys can you suggest the nearest and best places for me to get to from the University hospital in order to be able to watch the match? I thought the golden triangle might offer up some valid options but I haven't been down there for so long I wasn't sure if it was permit parking like everywhere else seems to be in the city nowadays! Oh and I named the little un Adam!
Congratulations, Chris! Were you at the birth? We've got a 7 month old daughter, an absolute joy! Great times ahead for you, enjoy! Can't help you with where to watch the match tho'
word from the old and wise ( well probably not the second) forget the match and get some sleep !! Congratulations!
Have no idea what pubs will have a live stream...anybody know a comprehensive list of where shows Norwich games? Eaton is just as close walking\driving distance and has a couple good pubs though, just not sure they have foreign satellite.
Not something I know for certain, but the bars in the UEA might have it on. If you can cope with being surrounded by students!
congrats mate! you working on the missus on getting a norwich themed name on the kid? (ala Beef "Holt" jnr) I can't think of anywhere near the uni hospital, everywhere I know is down prince of wales/riverside way. You might be lucky, theres a few norwich pubs out that way, check dem billboards!
congrats. I'd enjoy the peace and quiet at home while it lasts (speaking as someone who has their 2nd on the way at the end of June)
Congratulations Chris... I have two little hooligans myself. I'm with Jarold on this one. Sleep while you can. All the best!
Hi Chris, Congratulations first of all. I've watched quite a few games at the 'Bawburgh Family Golf Centre' - they have a projector and approx 20ft screen and also means you're heading away from the city and all the shoppers. Most of the pubs in the Golden Triangle can no longer get the matches and the only ones likely to be showing it are the other side of the city. Directions from NNUH - Head towards Watton, take the bypass towards Swaffham, come off at the 1st junction and as you come off, you're going to go straight over towards Easton. The Golf Centre is signposted from there - I'd guess 4 miles from NNUH. Good Luck.
Many congrats Chris. Hope Mrs Chris makes a speedy recovery. I would echo the above sentiments as well. Get the sleep while you can mate.
Forget the footie Chris. Having kids, especially the first, is the greatest thing that can happen to you. We are probably going to get stuffed so just go to the hospital and gaze at your little wonder.
So hope the name is after a certain mr drury... If it isn't, just pretend that it is, the missus will never know. Hope so much that you can tell the "We beat Arsenal the day you were born" Story
Congratulations! Best wishes to you and your wife, hope she is feeling better soon. I live very close to the hospital, but being a parent myself means I rarely get the chance to go to the pub... as you'll soon find out, lol. I have no idea where's the best place to watch football this side of the city. I rely on dodgy internet feed.
Us youth like our nights out CT! My family just force me to take a taxi. They prefer a glass or three of wine instead!
My boy done that a few years back, phoned me about one o'clock in the morning. Thinking he was in the city I said yes, turned out he was in Gt. Yarmouth.
Firstly, can I just take a moment to say thank you for all your kind best wishes. I'll now try to answer a few of your responses in turn...
