Thanks Welly, I certainly aim to enjoy every moment I can with the little fella. Yes I was at the birth.

The poor missus has had a terrible time of things. She has had hypremis Gravedum which in laymans terms means extreme morning sickness for the entire pregnancy. If she was not being physically sick then she was feeling like she is going to puke at any moment. She was hospitalised four times during the nine months through dehydration, respiratory problems, pregnancy diabetes and preclampsia and had to be induced a week early so as to avoid further complications.

She got induced on Sunday night but it took until nearly midnight Tuesday night for anything to start happening. I had travelled home late that evening leaving her on the ward only to get a phone call a couple of hours later to go back again! By the time I got back she was on the delivery suite and was puking up like crazy as her contractions were taking effect. Gas and air only made the situation worse so for the first 10 and a half hours it was hell.

Then the epidural went in and that calmed things down. Things were pretty steady until about 7'o clock when after examination it was discovered she was fully dilated so she pushed like hell to get him out and one hour later I am as proud as punch waiting to hold baby Adam only for him to be rushed off to Neo Natal as he suffered serious problems during birth.

As you can imagine I was mortified but they assured me that he would be carefully monitored. I went with him initially and then was going between him and my wife making sure both were ok. . She went to be stitched up but ended up going under a general aneasthetic as she was so badly torn and didnt return for three hours! Suffice to say I didnt get a lot of sleep this week pacing back and forth between the wards where Adam and the missus were being looked after.

Luckily though after a day of monitoring Adam was returned to mum on the maternity ward. Trouble is she is still suffering from kidney problems and so is being kept in until they can be sure all has been cleared up. Hence why I was in Norwich before the match.

Thanks Dave - I haven't been able to get drunk yet as I have to keep driving backwards and forwards to the hospital each day. That day will come around very soon! <cheers>

To all those wise heads that offered advice to get some rest and sleep... Unfortunately I have had nine months of sleep depravation looking after my sick wife so this week wasn't much different to any of the prvious 39!

There was an element of getting in a Norwich name. Grant, Wes and one or two others were vetoed immediately as, whilst not being a fan herself, she knew these were NCFC players. I didn't like her name choices and she didn't like mine. Adam came up and it was one we both liked, plus she had no idea about Drury as he is Mr Reliable, yet doesn't get the air time like the superstars of the team. What better name to associate loyalty, hard work and perseverance. I was dead chuffed when she agreed to it!!! :smiley-finger007:

A belated congrats from me, Chris. <ok>

Here's hoping that now Adam is finally here, your wife will feel better again, and you'll both settle down to enjoy that wonderful feeling of being new parents. Sounds like she's had a really hard time of it.

Been a while since I was in your position, but I still treasure the memory of being a new dad. My family are everything to me, whatever life throws at me, I'll always have them.

I wish the three of you every happiness.

By the way, did you ever get to see the match? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Thanks for the advice Redruth but I had no choice but to leave them both at lunch time as they have strict visiting hours in place!

As for getting stuffed, it was only a matter of Time before PL got the boys back to top form again. OTBC

Thanks squared but I reckon I missed your post by about ten minutes as I had already left to get to the hospital for 10:30 this morning.

To whoever suggested the Rose Tavern and has subsequently removed their comment a massive thank you. I ended up in there today, 1 minute after Wes had equalised but enjoyed the rest of the game immensely. I am so glad I got to see the boys play so well after a bit of a downturn for us recently.
