I wonder where the term Derby came from. Is it the same Derby who met Joan and did he meet her down the local?

I'm a Stella man myself ILD, has anyone else noticed how most of the 'Premium' beers have had their alcohol reduced ? Stella artois was 5.2% was reduced to 5.0% and recently has been reduced still further to 4.8% ! Carlsberg Export is also now only 4.8% ! I for one can certainly tell the difference too, not only taste wise, but also I now have to drink more to get pissed <hic> WTF are the breweries up too, talk about nanny state <grr>

Some stupid bitch was on points of view the other day complaining that there are too many people seen smoking on BBC drama programmes! <doh> Smoking is still a legal pursuit the last time I looked and I thought drama was partly about showing realism! Yes the NHS has to treat smokers for their self induced affliction but no one says anything about the Billions of pounds that smokers contribute each year! <grr> Its a bad habit, I'm a smoker but this is still a legal activity so **** off you nannying bitch slapper! Whatever next, putting health warnings on every bottle of alcohol and banning it from public display with plain packaging....! Now there's a thought!

I'll tell you what's no fun! All the washing up created by a home made curry using all the proper ingredients, none of this "curry powder" or Patak's sauce!

One of the famous lines from washing up ads was "For hands that clean dishes are as soft as your face (all sing along now) with...................."
They don't make 'em like that anymore!

I'm showing my age Thurnby but when Heinz first introduced tinned custard in the '70's it was advertised as 'New dairy custard'

Talking of which, I don't really 'do' desserts or sweet things and can't understand some people's obsession with them. I always have a starter and a (large) main course, but desserts, pah, you can keep 'em ! <ok>

O.K. kickitoff, try your memory with this little taster - Prawn Cocktail, 8oz steak, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings followed by Black Forest Gateau - the Berni Inn special. How good was that? c.1970's I would say. Bloody lovely but bit dated now with all these clever dishes with Jus and napping
