Totally forgot to tell you guys about my oh so brilliant Eureka! moment I had before the game on Sunday. I'm pretty sure I've finally worked out how we should use Bentley. Turn him into a playmaker in the middle like Schweinstieger and Milner, two other wingers who were a bit on the slow side and have **** haircuts. I was going to write a few paragraphs explaining why this would work so well and we should build our team around him but I think it's all very obvious Infact, Bentley's mulling it over right now please log in to view this image COYS!
The sad thing is that Bentley would probably be ok in our current team, as a desperation measure. Walker's style of play would complement him and he could probably do a decent job in the role that Redknapp's tried to make Modric play recently. If he was selected in front of two holding midfielders and could just pass the ball around and take set-pieces, then it would nullify most of the negative parts of his game. We don't do reserve games any more though, so I have no idea how we're expecting the likes of him and Jenas to get back to a decent fitness level. Hopefully it'll be someone else's problem next season, as they don't appear to have a future at the club.
The best thing to do with our malfunctioning Bentley, is to have him bumped off and claim on the insurance. It's the only way we'll get any of our money back.
or maybe Redknapp will be someone elses problem and we can get a reserve team to maintain fitness and actually keep some of the lads at Spurs incase we need them come the business end of the season.
but i do like these little intricate ideas..and they look great if they go to plan..did not Wenger convert Henry from a winger to a striker? i cant belive we purchased Khumalo to sell about 7 shirts in Africa...amazing!
I'm starting to wonder about our affiliate clubs. True, we got Sandro from Internacional (whilst they dick us around about Leandro) and we're looking over Christian Ramirez from Independiente Jose Teran, but we also got lumbered with Khumalo. Anyone else worried we'll be taking on players from the San Jose Earthquakes, South China AA or TOT SC? I can't think of any positives of having to take a Chinese and Thai player on every couple of seasons...
would the shirt sales pay his wages??? as for being good..i think for some reason even if they are good they wont get games..they never do.
South China AA are actually based in Hong Kong, which has it's own national side. That makes shirt sales bloody pointless, too.
I'd prefer if we thought a little bigger in terms of affiliated clubs - Internacional and the San Jose Earthquakes are good choices, Independiente Jose Teran could work out, but there's little to be gained from Supersport. If we want a foothold in the Far East, the third-placed team in the Hong Kong first division and a team battling relegation in the Thai Premier League isn't the way to go. If we became affiliated with Dinamo Zagreb it would be beneficial (getting first refusal on Badelj and Kovacic would be a great start), or we could link up with a Danish team like Midtjylland or Nordsjaelland, or a team in the J-League.
