Kimi's venture into NASCAR is quite interesting...!
I'd like to see him "trading paint" with JPMontoya and the other guys in the near future.
It will be exciting to see Kimi going 180
+ mph, three abreast through the curves, nose to tail, for those of you not familiar with the american language, that's 280 plus KPH side by side, by side, bumper to bumper ,( those sideways structures that go across the back of the car and the front of the car)
JP is NOW an interesting , well known and accomplished driver in the series.
STOP, THIS is only an opinion, DO, please respect anyone's posting as just that, OR is it not a matter of free speach to do so across the pond..?
Variety is "the spice of life", whether it be food, women or racing.
whereas racing is NOT defined as F1, rather F1 IS just one form of the sport, whether it be dog racing, boat racing or racing with :airplanes, bicycles, camels, bobsled, pigeons or on foot.Another form of racing is : gathering up your clothes & exiting out a window before her husband catches your naked ass in bed with his wife.

I'm interested in Kimi's rallying career. He moved into it at the worst time possible, up until last year I think the drivers were allowed as much time to research the stage before hand, but from last year I think they only get one or two runs to make pace notes. He's therefore at a massive disadvantage because he doesn't have a stack of notes to fall back on from previous years. I think he'll improve this year though, I'd love to see him win a rally, I don't think anyone has every one a rally and the F1 championship so it would be real testament to his natural racing prowess.
 
I've always liked Kimi, so good luck to him! Its nice to see a driver changing 'code' quite so much as he is. I'm not sure how old he is now, but maybe he'll go for the motorsport triple crown? He's already won at Monaco/the WDC, so he could do it.

He'll never win a top class rally.
 
About time Raikkonen, stopped playing about and concentrated on a particular formula, "IF" he want to be considered as a serious driver, rather than behaving like a spoilt child who doesn't know which toy to play with.

My view is, it's impossible nowaday's to succeed at any world class form of motor sport if a driver is not fully dedicated, fit, focussed, and all the rest of it. And that includes Kubica, he will never win a WDC

As Canary say's a waste of talent, he's just a playboy. In my humble opinion.

Why not? He's had several points scoring finishes and he'll only get stronger with experience.

I disagree with the comment about Kubica. He says rallying helps improve his concentration and keeps him race sharp in between races. These drivers have to wait three or four weeks without stepping in the car, there's no testing now so drivers need a way to keep themselves competitive. If you look at Kubica's performance in Monaco last year, he was right on the limit the whole weekend, even in practice, coming within millimetres of the armco without ever touching it. I've never seen another driver demonstrate such a high level of sustained concentration, perhaps if a few more of them took part in competitive race meets between races they'd be able to match Robert in that respect, because he was out on his own that weekend in terms of performance, just not enough to beat a far superior car.
 
AG: Nah, Irresponsible behavior from Kubica, racing on public roads, with Armco erected by Christ knows whom, accident waiting to happen.

Competitive well managed race meets between races are fine, but not out of control rallying, in my humble opinion.

Crashing into loose poorly erected Armco does not keep you sharp or improve your concentration, I think its proved to be more of a distraction. A risk too far.
 
The problem is that track racing more or less shuts down over winter. What we need is a "F1 winter Touring cars championship" .... Copyright.

Maybe something organised on a track for F1 drivers, it can be for charity or what, surely they have a spare weekend or two for a bit of fun (for us) :)

I would have stopped Kubica, and I would have sacked him if he carried on.
 
the Massa Karting thing is good, maybe they should make a series of it. Im sure there are loads of past/present and future f1 drivers that could take part. hey it might even be better than F1..... just dont tell Bernie

Someone mentioned the 'triple crown' earlier I think Kimi is not quite taking the correct course, truck racing is not the route he needs to follow.

The sad thing is, he was perfectly capable of achieving such an accolade had he so chosen, but going off rallying and truck racing is not adding to his success.

Truck racing in Nascar is pretty much the trial series to the main NASCAR... I think. I dont really follow it. Is he going for the Daytona 500 and Indy 500? will Kimi drive Le Mans next?
