Tell you what - if Nick goes, I reckon some of the lads will bail out, too.

I've been worried about the Allam's commitment to team strengthening for a while now and if this is true I think it is pretty obvious that they don't intend to spend and they don't like anyone suggesting they should.

They've probably just lost about £1m in season ticket revenue.

    Glad I changed my avatar.

    Looks like it is true.

Some very odd things going on. I have always reserved judgement about the Allams - never wanting to criticise them, due to the wiping of the debt and their claim that it is a 'gift' - but i've always been wary of some underlying motive, it's very rare that something is done purely for altruistic reasons in business. I wasn't too sure around the whole Stadium ownership debate - I remember at the time on the way to Doncaster a councillor giving some good reasons for not giving it to them.

Still - i'll give them a chance to explain themselves, if it is indeed true. It better be good.

Is there a chance that they might be wanting to go for a merged Rugby League club at Craven Park - funded by selling City?

If the 2nd bit is certain, then the first bit is more interesting than being about whether Barmby will stay or not.

Could the comment in question be the one where it was something along the lines of having the players lined up and just needing the green light to complete the deals? Going on other comments we'd be talking free transfers, and they shouldn't be all lined up yet unless clubs have given us permission to speak to them.

With regards Barmby's position, I've said all along that I like what he's trying to do with the side, but he fails to acknowledge weaknesses in the squad (eg playing a lone striker when we don't have one), his comments in the press have been poor in terms of both relieving pressure on his players and in keeping fans expectations realistic, and his "I didn't need a plan B when we were winning" comments would have resulted in most of the fan base being against him if it had been anyone else. If he's been suspended for transfer talk, other than the potential of dropping us in it for tapping up player then it's ridiculous, but I'm not all that bothered with his loss as a manager.

It would seem that the club is indeed going up for sale.

And today had been so sunny...

Turely shocking news if true. I don't buy he has been suspended for his comments either. There has to be more to this then meets the eye.

Well that is it as I will not be renewing my pass if this is true and the Allam's can go screw themselves.

What an absolute ****ing farce! <grr> Unless there's more to it then meets the eye I don't see what grounds the Allam's have to suspend Barmby on, a warning would surely have sufficed then we could avoid this circus which looks to be approaching. Unfortunately this scenario could well tarnish the Allam's reputation among supporters.

They're about £2million off a £60 million bit of prize money, what Barmby was saying is just logical.

So it looks like our saviours have revealed their true colours. They wanted the club so they could get the ground and the land around it on the cheap.
Now they can't they've got no interest in spending a bean and they want out.
Why do we always get 'em? Come back Don Robinson!

Just my thoughts but.... The Allams paid off £50m of debt with the underlying motive of getting hold of the club and KC Stadium and making their money back via the Sports Village. I can live with that - we should always be grateful for the debt clearance.

But when they didn't get their way with the council they lost all interest in the club, threw their toys out of the pram and refused any more funds. Culminating in today's apparent decision to put the club up for sale, if true. Thus showing they've never really had the club's true interests at heart.

Suspending Barmby though is utterly shocking and that I think is the point where the line will be crossed with most fans. Ridiculous decision if it is the case.
