Now that you're all safe and tucked up in bed for another Championship season next year, I wonder if you could spare a thought for us over here that still have a way to go.

Does the natural aspiration of a rival to give us a hammering next season in the Championship overwhelm your neighbourly affection for us in wishing us well?

We know you guys think the world of us and genuinely only want the best for all us wonderful Cardiff supporters, but we can't help feeling there may be something holding you back from making your feelings public. Maybe it's just the testosterone-charged atmosphere of the stadiums and even this forum on occasions, but come on now fellas, aren't you going to wish us all the best for the playoffs?

You can't seriously want that Holloway bloke to get there again. Sam, the bulldog chewing a wasp has had a few chances up there, and Brum are a habitual bunch of yoyos that they've had enough goes already.

I know that if the positions were reversed, us Cardiff posters would be the first with the good wishes. You know it makes sense guys - let your feelings out.
 
Ok.. here i go...

you have played well this season, massive changes since last season and deserve the play off spot, in other seasons you have been the favourites to go up because of your league position, this year it is different, and being underdogs might help you.

BUT.. I don't think you'll go up :D

Yes, I agree with that Dodger - but you didn't say whether you wish us well.
 
You have gone about your business this season in a more quiet manner.

You haven't been so 'in everybodys face' with your expectations.

And, you have played reasonably consistently well all season..

So all things being equal..

No, One welsh team in the top flight is all I can bare.
 
To be honest I don't really care who goes up, but ...
West Ham - we would get more cash as part of the Maynard deal if they went up, but would be entertaining to see Allardyce fail
Birmingham - Hughton's done an immense job - solid side
Blackpool - love him or hate him, Holloway'a sides play attacking football and Blackpool's style of football gave something to the PL last time
Cardiff - I would miss the derby game - Malky has done an amazing job
Anyway Sparky - all the best - it's a lottery, but IMO Cardiff can beat anyone on their day (and a draw in the first leg won't be the worst thing)
 
So we've got a choice,Hollowhead,Maynards bunch of cockernies,Paul Trollopes mob or the Treorchy Male Vice Choir lot or Bigheads,Brummies,Bastards and Bottlers,no problem,it's got to be.....

West Ham if they fail would be one of the favourites to go up next year, with a decent manager. Brum will be strong next year without Europe as a distraction.
Then we have your lot and Blackpool
Blackpool fail and Hollowhead will probably leave, making them weaker and your lot, not the strongest of the teams in the playoffs always good to look forward to the derbies.

So to make the championship easier which is already the hardest division within the four leagues in my view. I would like to get rid of either Brum or West Ham.

With Wolves down (plus possibly Villa) then Birmingham will go up.
That's what happens with those Midlands teams!
 
I thought with West Ham we only get money for Maynard if they go up next year, not this year. There was a link on the West Ham forum to an interview with their owner. Basically they were confident of going up this year so no bonus for Nicky if they do. I'd like to see Birmingham go up as Hughton is a decent bloke IMO.
 
Ah, I see there're a variety of motives here. Not many straight answers, but an interesting insight.

There appears to be those who have actually thought about it and come to the conclusion that it would be preferable for one of the "better" teams in the playoffs to go up out of self interest.

That's fair enough, getting rid of West Ham or Brum would make it easier for you to get promotion next year <laugh> (or less likely to be relegated ..<whistle> )

Then there are those who are just unable to bring themselves to want Cardiff in the Prem before them. I can understand that, I felt the same way about Swansea last year.

Others seem to think that the absence of the much anticipated cross channel derbies would be great shame and want us to stay here to meet you again next year - that's decent enough as it's as good a reason as any to hang around the Championship. I applaud all those motives.

Finally, there are the brain-dead like Shiney..................<laugh><laugh>
 
I would prefer Birmingham to go up

But out of cardiff and blackpool well I cannot stand that lil skeletol mofo never understood why some of are fans clap him! Had a run in with the nob years back ran his mouth out his car window then spun off when me and me mate walked over.

As someone who was frequently taken to Ninian Park in the early fifties by my father who hailed from Tonypandy, and who saw the 1951 team (*) go to the First Division, I wish you well in your play off games. I would rather Cardiff than any of the others.

(*) As far as I can remember the team then was; Howells; Stitfall & Sherwood; Baker, Montgomery & Harrington; Tiddy, Blair, Ford, Chisholm & Edwards.

By the way BCFC fans, the trips were always when the Robins were on an away day. The Red City have always been my team and so it was for my Dad who first watched City in Fatty Wedlock's days in the First Division when we really were one of England's best sides.

Of the four play off sides, I hope Cardiff City wins through............the other three have had their days in the prem, West Ham & Birmingham City will soon be back. Second choice has to be Blackpool, Hollies side where a breath of fresh air last season.

My head says it will be West Ham.
 
blackpool as they make god playoff side if not them birmingham too much hoof ball from west ham and too early for cardiff
